NH DOT: Hybrid Roundabout Construction in Henniker-Hopkinton - Phase 4
Traffic will be impacted through October.
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will continue construction of a hybrid roundabout located at the intersection of US 202 (Route 9) and Route 127 / Old Concord Road just east of the Henniker/Hopkinton town line. The project is now moving into Phase 4, which includes work on Route 127 and the northern portion of the roundabout.
Weather permitting, Phase 4 is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Construction will take place daily between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
During this phase, access to Route 127 from US 202 (Route 9) will be fully closed for approximately 14 days. There will be a signed 9-mile detour for Route 127 via Interstate 89 from Exit 6 to Exit 5 to connect back to US 202 (Route 9).
There will be a posted 35 mph speed limit through the project for road users’ safety.
This project consists of the construction of a hybrid roundabout and the reconstruction of the approaches on US 202 (NH Route 9), NH Route 127 and Old Concord Road. There will be new overhead signs structures and drainage improvements incorporated into the 5-phase project.
Message boards, flaggers, uniformed officers, and traffic control devices will be used as needed to direct the travelling public. Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs through the work zone. A 10-mph speed reduction during construction will also be implemented for road users' safety.
