Congratulations to our president, Ann Gotthoffer, and Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi, the Los Angeles County Democratic Party’s 2026 Democrats of the Year for Assembly District 66!

Ann has spent 57 years supporting progressive causes, casting her first vote for Shirley Chisholm alongside her mother. She has served our club as secretary and now president, volunteers with the California Democratic Party’s Voter Protection Team, serves on the Hermosa Beach Kiwanis Board, and coordinates Red Cross blood drives.

Assemblymember Muratsuchi is terming out this year after 12 years representing the South Bay in the Assembly. A first-generation college graduate, El Camino College lecturer, and former Torrance School Board president, he authored the $10 billion school bond approved by voters in 2024 and California’s law fighting book bans.

Trump loyalist Richard “Ric” Grenell is bringing MAGA politics into the Hermosa Beach City Council race. He helped carry out Trump’s takeover of the Kennedy Center, facing Senate scrutiny over alleged corruption. Now Grenell is helping raise money to defeat our endorsed Democrats in Hermosa Beach.

Beach Cities Democrats refuses to shrug this off. We are determined to keep MAGA influence out of City Hall. Vote for Maggie Bove-LaMonica, Eric Horne, and Raymond “Ray” Jackson for Hermosa Beach City Council by November 3, 2026. Use all three votes. Talk to your neighbors. Help elect a Democratic majority on the Hermosa Beach City Council.

Beach Cities Democrats’ Official 2026 Endorsements 🗳️

Ballots are arriving! Vote early to protect voting rights, expand affordable housing and defend health care. Here are Beach Cities Democrats’ endorsements for the November 3, 2026 general election in Los Angeles County, California.

After the primary, Beach Cities Democrats reconsidered endorsements for State Assembly District 66 and State Senate District 24 and reached no consensus in both. No consensus means no candidate met our 60% endorsement threshold.

For Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Treasurer and Superintendent of Public Instruction, we reached no consensus during the primary endorsement process and did not reconsider those races for the general election. The California Democratic Party has made endorsements in those races. View its endorsements at https://cadem.org/endorsements.
