Another surprising lifer — and this one came during a lunch break!

I was taking a brief walk along the Susquehanna River during a long drive when I spotted these two ducks in the water. At first, I thought they were domestic Mallards, but they turned out to be Muscovy Ducks (domestic/feral) — another unexpected lifer for me! 🦆📸

Not one of my best shots, but I like this photo because it turned out to be an accidental lifer!

I was watching a group of Ring-billed Gulls when a larger gull suddenly appeared in the distance. It was too far away to see clearly with the naked eye, so I assumed it was an American Herring Gull. Later, while going through my photos and with a little help from the Merlin app, I realized it was actually a Lesser Black-backed Gull — a lifer for me! 📸🐦

Sometimes the surprise comes after the photo is taken!
