Another Port Clinton Art Festival in the books, what a weekend!

The crowds were huge, the artwork seemed boundless, there was music and tasty bites throughout downtown. I ran into so many friends and got so many signatures for my mayoral petitions along the way. Even Sunday’s rain couldn’t put much of a damper on things.

Helping kick off the weekend with Amy Amdur, who has brought this incredible event to life year after year, and Councilmember Yumi Ross was definitely a highlight!

And for anyone who made it out this weekend, I’d love to know: did you go home with a new piece of art? Because I did!

A terrific End of Summer Party at Park Avenue Beach!

Thank you to the Park District of Highland Park for bringing everyone together for such a fun evening along the lakefront. Great music, beautiful weather, and so many familiar faces made it the perfect way to enjoy one of the last weekends of summer.

Park Avenue Beach was absolutely beautiful, and I loved seeing it so full of life. This is exactly how our public spaces should feel: active, welcoming, and enjoyed by the people who live here.

The Shops on Elm Place know how to send off summer!

I had such a nice time catching up with Josh Gordon at the Custom Framer and Dr. Josh Gilbert of Gilbert Orthodontics. I always appreciate those moments when you can step away from the schedule and talk, laugh with, and celebrate the people who have been a part of Highland Park for so many years.

A big congratulations to The Custom Framer on 30 years of framing, Gilbert Orthodontics on 10 years of smiles, and to ABC Design Jewelers 5 years of sparkle in Highland Park.

It’s exciting to see a Highland Park block come alive like this and give people another reason to spend time downtown!

A sweet preview of what’s coming to Roger Williams! Thank you to Jessica Rivero and her daughter Loretta, of Casa Colibris for dropping off some pastries they’ll be serving once the restaurant opens.

They’re almost there, and from what I tasted, Highland Park has a lot to look forward to! I’m always excited to see new businesses bringing fresh ideas and energy to our community.

What a day at the Vintage Car Show! This year’s event was the largest ever, and it was so much fun seeing The Lot filled with incredible cars, families, friends, and people enjoying a beautiful day downtown.

A huge congratulations to Joe Peddle for bringing together these cherished vehicles and their owners from across the state, and to Ilyse Strongin of Ripple for knocking this event out of The Lot! 👏

I loved spending some of the day with so many people from our community. How fun seeing Highland Park’s own Earl Slavin exhibiting his car again this weekend. Truly TLC!

This is exactly the kind of energy I love seeing in downtown Highland Park.

One of my favorite parts of summer in Highland Park is getting outside, enjoying some live music, and spending time with good friends.

Such a fun evening at Jens Jensen Park with my good friend, Luis Gonzalez. It’s the simple moments that make summer here so special.

It was great to spend time with the Moraine Township Dems at the annual “Party with Our Party” event while gathering signatures for my petition to get on the ballot this April! It was especially nice to be back after having hosted this event in my backyard a few summers ago.

One of the things I’m enjoying most about this process is catching up with people, hearing what’s on their minds, and having real conversations about the future of Highland Park.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, and to everyone who added their name to my petition. I truly appreciate the support!

A big thank you to Michael Buss and Doug Purington for adding their signatures to my petition for mayor!

Michael has been a longtime community activist and educator in Highland Park, and Doug serves as the Publicity & Membership Director of the Ravinia Neighbors Association.

We’re currently gathering signatures to get my name on the ballot for the mayoral election, and I’m thankful to every person who has taken time to be part of the process.

This is such a meaningful part of my campaign. I love getting to talk with people throughout Highland Park, and listening to their ideas for where our city should go next.
