If your venison meals consist of "backstrap and burger" then you're missing out. I don't even bother with roast beef from the deli anymore. This is way easier than you think, and more delicious than you can imagine.

This is the perfect time to lend a hand to VCH if you've been following our journey and believe in what we're doing.
As these photos from my deployments show, our veterans are no strangers to getting things done with the bare minimum. It's no different at VCH. Even a little bit of gear or support goes a long way towards helping our vets find some well deserved peace, excitement, and sense of purpose, all while rebuilding local habitat and supporting conservation.
Together, let's get veterans off our waitlist and into the deer woods where healing, stewardship, and community can begin.

This is a great place to spend an afternoon. With the temperature finally dropping, we get to enjoy crisp cool air, quiet woods, and a reminder of why we started this mission in the first place: purpose, connection, and healing in nature.

We're proud to partner with The Valley Butcher. Whether we're donating venison through them to local food pantries and community members, or getting fancy cuts for our own table, we appreciate the care they take and the great work they do.

Yesterday was opening day for Fall Archery Deer season here in NJ.

We had some veterans harvest their first deer ever. We had some returning vets who had been eagerly awaiting some "tree stand therapy" leading up to the day.

Some of our vets were eating steak and eggs this morning, and some were eating 'tag soup' after going home empty handed last night. All had 'successful' hunts after catching a sunrise or sunset (or both in some cases) in some of the most beautiful spaces the NJ landscape has to offer.

Once upon a time in another life, on a day like today, some people flew some planes into some buildings prompting me to join the U.S. Marine Corps. A lot of folks did the same. Let's take a moment today to remember those who didn't make it through that day, and those who answered the call in the aftermath and paid the ultimate price.
