We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July!

Yesterday was an exceptionally busy day for our agency. At the request of Mercer EMS Coordinators, our crew was one of two which answered the call from Mercer County to deploy into West New York to assist with Fourth of July celebrations. Our members staffed one of several first aid stations supporting the large influx of visitors attending the air and boat shows.

While clearing that assignment, our crew was immediately requested by our EMS coordinators and the New Jersey EMS Taskforce to assist with the evacuation of 214 patients in a nursing home in Voorhees. They responded directly to the incident and worked alongside numerous other first responders to ensure the safe evacuation of patients. 3 ambulances responded from Mercer County.

After returning to Hightstown, our volunteers continued serving our community by responding to several assignments throughout the storm.

Yesterday, emergency services agencies from across New Jersey were pushed to their limits. From supporting the FIFA games, to supporting major Fourth of July celebrations, assisting with a large scale nursing home evacuation and responding to severe weather emergencies, the day showcased the dedication, teamwork, and professionalism of New Jersey’s emergency responders.

This commitment to the service of others and the unity that is formed in times of need, exemplifies what it means to be an American on such a fitting day! 🇺🇸

Today, our squad responded to a building fire at Fridays in Town Center Plaza, East Windsor. We were requested to provide mutual aid by East Windsor 147-1 due to the high volume of Fire units. We remained on scene to provide fire rehab to our partners fighting the fire, ensuring that their health was continuously monitored. We thank those involved for their service and are happy to serve our community!
