ANNOUNCEMENT:
Regarding the 2020 WV ROADKILL PAGEANT Event
Great Risings WVRP Family, Fans and Followers,
We are taking this time to remind all of you that WV Roadkill Pageant is committed to the well-being of our People, fellow West Virginians, fellow Americans, fellow men-women across the world we call earth. If you have a copy of the 2019 WV Roadkill Pageant program, therein states a condensed statement regarding our commitment. We are transparent in our mission, programs (local and statewide), our dedication to our People. This being reminded to you and new to others, we want to share with you the following information.
Several months (dating back to autumn 2019) 'prior' to the media announcements of CORONAVIRUS-19, WVRP Staff had been diligent in exercising our 'private' research regarding upcoming potential dates of our hosting the 2020 WV ROADKILL PAGEANT event. We were in-the-know then that 'some things' were coming to our American shores; We were privy to specific timelines and the general impact the insertion of the 'virus' would have on the world economy. We watched, asked questions, shared input with fellow diligent researchers, and made the decision to hold back on a definitive date of hosting our W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L event. Yep... I said wonderful and am curious as to how many of you know, re-collect, or are just learning that the WVRP event, titlists and staff are quite nearly solely responsible for bringing national exposure to this event which showcases the AUTUMN HARVEST FESTIVAL / WEST VIRGINIA ROADKILL COOK-OFF Competition?
Over the 14+ years, WV ROADKILL PAGEANT titlists and staff have been diligent in promoting the area businesses, even those who are not in the West Virginia State because those businesses and their staff not only supported us via contributions of their wares, services, sponsorships and fundage but because they believe in our mission. Our titlists and staff are our 'front-line' supporting our state (and nearby states), businesses and People. Our titlists hail from across the West Virginia State- NOT just local (Pocahontas County, West Virginia). Pocahontas County is simply where our main office is located- a private home generously donated for use by our WVRP Director, Shawn Smith. You may applaud her now because THIS is no small task/fete. Our Records Custodian hails from the Carolinas, currently in South Carolina State. So you see, we as members of 'We The People', hail from many places supporting and sponsoring this event because we believe in our mission to help men and women be the best we can be.
We shall remain diligent in hosting as many workshops, community events, and assisting with meeting the needs of the People during the 'recommended' period of 'Social Distancing' unless, we deem otherwise to run wide open with our endeavors. We have not nor shall we ever lose sight of our mission and goals, regardless of what is in our path. We have overcome challenges far more severe than current circumstances. We are helpers, stewards, leaders and messengers of good-will and we will never exercise any things aside good-will.
Know that when the WVRP staff has sufficient true knowledge that danger of harm has passed, we will announce a time and place for the hosting of our WV ROADKILL PAGEANT event. Until then, we bid you all well-being, patience, tolerance, and love from all that we are. In the meantime, do nice things for yourself and others. Things as simple as opening / holding the door for others, paying a portion of their grocery bill, carrying their parcels to their automobile, washing the pollen off a neighbors' automobile, and SMILE. SMILE most of all...it increases your face value !!!
Namaste. Namaste. Namaste.
Shawn Smith, WV ROADKILL PAGEANT Director and
:shelly-linn: wilder, WVRP Records Custodian.
