May was a steady month for our crew, filled with emergency responses, training and parades.

Here is a look at what we accomplished this past month-

Emergency Calls: Responded to a structure fire and a motor vehicle accident.

Training: Teamed up for a joint training with the Union Center Fire Dept.

State Certification: Pushed our skills further with the Wisconsin State Firefighter 2 practical exam.

Honoring Heroes: Placed American flags on the graves of our fallen firefighters and honored all fallen service members on Memorial Day.

Parade Fun: Brought out Brush 2 and Tanker 1 to see everyone at the Chapparal Campground Campground Parade.

We are proud to serve the Hillsboro area. Thank you for your continued support! 🇺🇸✨

Today, the Hillsboro Area Fire Department stands in remembrance of the brave individuals who laid down their lives for our nation.
Memorial Day calls us to look beyond the long weekend and truly reflect on the profound selflessness of our fallen service members. We owe our daily freedoms to their ultimate sacrifice, and our hearts remain with their families who carry their memories forward.
As you enjoy time with loved ones today, please join us in pausing to honor those who gave everything.
🇺🇸 Honor. Remember. Never Forget. 🇺🇸

Training for excellence to keep our community safe. 🚒

Last night, our crew teamed up with our brothers from the
Union Center Fire Department for a joint training session at our burn tower.
Firefighters from both departments practiced scenarios to sharpen their lifesaving skills.
Training scenarios included:
Basement search and rescue operations.
Second and third-story rescue tactics.
May Day scenarios.
Window rescue from second story.
Ladder transitions for roof access.

Training sessions like this ensure our personnel are prepared for seamless teamwork during mutual-aid emergencies.
Proud to train alongside the Union Center Fire Department!

It has been a steady month for our department- from our monthly meetings and annual gun raffle to the community Easter Egg hunt, our crew hasn’t slowed down for a second. Between trainings and responding to a steady stream of calls—including fire alarms, a structure and shed fire, and downed power lines—we’ve been moving non-stop to keep our community safe. We have also helped with managing some aftermath of severe weather and a destructive EF3 tornado. Amidst the action, we have some great news to share: our State Firefighter II class wrapped up in April, and every single one of our members passed their written exams! We are now focused on the practical exams coming up later this month.

There is severe weather likely Friday afternoon and evening. Begin to plan now to ensure you have ways to receive severe weather warnings and know where to go should storms approach your location.
