The Hillsboro Visitors' Committee, funded by the City of Hillsboro lodging tax, is actively taking requests for grant funding. All requests should comply with the criteria and process below.
Visitors’ Committee (Lodging Tax) Requests
1. All requests must be made in written form and submitted to the:

2. Requests should:
a. List principal people or organizations involved.
b. Outline the nature of the request in size and scope. Specifically, please list the dollar amount requested.
c. Specify how the funds will be “promoting, encouraging and attracting visitors to come to the City and use the travel and tourism facilities within the City.”
d. Specify a timeline for the start and completion of the project.
e. Present evidence that additional required financing, if applicable, is available which will allow the proposal to be completed if funded. Other funds or commitments for the project should be listed.
3. Requests will be reviewed at the next applicable Visitors’ Committee meeting, with meetings generally held each quarter of the year.
4. The Visitors’ Committee will submit recommendations to the City Commission for final approval.
5. Additional criteria may be added as needed.
