From Cat: to answer an earlier post: it is my understanding that Chalk 14 soldiers will have a different schedule for reintegration training to get what they have to so they can go on leave at the same time as the earlier flights. I will find out what I can and post it. The best ones to ask though are your Chalk 14 soldiers. They each should have been given a schedule.

06/27/2011

For day 2 reintegration training for Chalk 14, childcare is also being offered. To sign up please contact Lisa Partington at [email protected] Please provide your name, the number of children, their ages, their names and a good phone number to reach you.

06/27/2011

Today, Monday, is day 2 of reintegration for the Chalk 10 flight. This is the day that spouses can go to the briefings with their soldier. No children are allowed. Child care was offered for your convenience. You can meet your soldier at the main post chapel at 0830.

06/25/2011

There have been some families that have not gotten the eArmy messaging system notifications. The phone numbers and emails used were based on rosters. There are several reasons that you may not be getting the messages so I do not know each individual circumstance. The most usual reason (and it might not be your situation) is that a family member didn't update their phone or email with their FRG.

06/25/2011

The flight, Chalk 14, will be arriving at Fort Stewart on Sat, June 25th at 8:30 pm. They have made it to Ireland. Please check flight tracker for updates. They are almost home. WOO HOO!!!!

Chalk 14. Update flight information. 8:30 pm on Friday the 24th. Flight delay due to weather conditions. The location will still be at Cottrell Field. Please continue to check flight tracker with any Welcome Home Ceremony Changes

06/22/2011

from Cat: flight times are always subject to change. Plane availability, weather, breakdowns, etc. If I could wish comething, it would be that there were no flight info getting out until the plane actually left. They go when the go, they get back when they get back. That is how the Army works. We are still getting them home in June and not July. Please have patience as they come home.

06/22/2011

Welcome Home Ceremony time up date. Chalk 14 Welcome Home Ceremony, time is 6:40 am on Friday June 24th. Ceremony still to be at Cottrell Field.

06/21/2011

Welcome home ceremony update for Chalk 14. Welcome home ceremony at Cottrell Field on June 23rd 2011, at 8:15pm. Please continue to view the Flight tracker for updates as well.

06/21/2011

06/20/2011

From Cat: still tracking that Garrison will combine the welcome home ceremonies. Also, the Squadron colors will be uncased during the ceremony so that might be different for some of you that haven't seen that before.

06/20/2011

More good news, Chalk 10 made it to Ireland and are still on schedule for tonight. Keep your eye on flight tracker for updates.

06/20/2011
WELCOME HOME 3ID AND TENANT UNITS

And more good news: We are expecting our CHALK 14 flight to be arriving on Ft Stewart at 8:15 pm Thursday evening, June 23rd on Cottrell Field.
Please check the flight tracker for updates on welcome ceremony times at www.stewart.army.mil/flighttrack.

looks like we will have them all home soon, woo hoo

06/20/2011

From Cat: great news, they are on schedule. There is a very strong chance that Chalk 10 and 12 will have a combined welcome home ceremony, so be prepared for the crowded conditions. Please keep up with flight tracker for the most current welcome home ceremony time. Thank you for your support.

06/20/2011

From Cat: I repeat, to vent, email me at [email protected] That means don't post it on facebook, email me and I will answer your concerns individually. Postings on the 4th IBCT site are being monitored and deleted so please respect their site. Bottom line, they go when they go and they get back when they get back. THAT is the army way.

06/19/2011

from Cat: The overwhelming response has been very positive, understanding and from families who understand what we meant when we said," they go when they go and they get back when they get back". Thank you. To the others, we are still within the year timeline so be glad that they are coming back this early at all instead of having to wait until July.

06/19/2011

from Cat: I am always available for concerns, questions, comments, etc at [email protected] If you have frustrations please vent on me and not your FRG leaders, staff duty, Rear D, POCs or anyone else. There is no reason for anyone to be rude to anyone while we await their return. This is a happy time. Please be courteous in all your communications.

06/19/2011

from Cat: People have called saying that "mechanical issues" is no longer a good enough excuse for them. It is what it is. Continually calling staff duty or FRG leaders does NOT change that fact. Those types of calls only clog the phone lines and then forward command can't get through on the line to provide updates. If that is still your concern then please email me, Cat, at [email protected]

06/19/2011

from Cat Reynolds: Please do NOT use foul language on postings because of frustrations with the flight changes. They will be removed from the page. If the language persists, guilty parties will be blocked from making further postings.

06/19/2011

eArmy messaging system will be used to update families as well. There is a delay between when a flight change is posted on flight tracker to when the message comes out. They are 2 different systems. Please be patient as we get information to you. There is no reason to be rude to your points of contact, FRG leaders, Rear Detachment, staff duty or anyone else. It will not get information to you more quickly. (from Cat)

06/16/2011

Mustang Families, As your Troopers complete their movement to California, I felt it pertinent to share with you a little about what your Troopers will doing over the course of the next 30 days. To begin with, the Squadron safely finished its movement Sunday afternoon with no issues. The national training center was established to evaluate a brigade level unit’s combat readiness and provide tough, realistic training. Ideally every brigade in the Army will complete a rotation either at NTC or at JRTC prior to being eligible to deploy. Ft Irwin itself is located in the Mojave desert in southern California; an area that strikingly resembles the hot deserts of Iraq. The training consists of two basic phases, in and out of the “box”. The first two weeks, the Troopers will be in-processed to NTC, attend various classes and small training events, and acclimatize to the environment. During this time, the Troopers will sleep in bays and will have limited access to amenities such as boodle (food other than army provided such as candy, etc.) and MWR facilities. Each individual Trooper’s schedule will vary, but will generally mirror a normal extended work day. All these classes and training events build up into the two week field exercise in the desert. Known as “the box,” the Troopers will train on all the skills necessary to be an effective war fighting unit. While in “the box,” the Troopers will operate in a field environment the entire time and their access to amenities will be much less, but not zero. For example, while in the box “boodle vans” will sometimes swing by their training area selling items ranging from ice cream to hot dogs. You have every reason to be proud of your Trooper. Upon completion of NTC, they will be among the best trained Soldiers in the World. I ask that you take this time to evaluate yourselves here on the home-front. Do you have everything you need to be successfully while your spouse is deployed? Now is the time to identify potential issues that you and your spouse can resolve during the time period between NTC and our deployment to Iraq. I know it is hard to be separated from your Trooper, and I thank you for your sacrifice. As a married Soldier, I can tell you how important your support is to your Trooper. If SSG Braudis or I can do anything to assist you during this time, do not hesitate to bring it to our attention. Stay strong; you are already one day closer to have your Trooper home! Scouts Out!
