Where: Camping in Wompatuck State Park this past weekend, getting some quality outdoor knitting done. Lots of wildlife sightings, including a rust colored eastern screech owl during an afternoon hike, daily visits from a deer, a raccoon who ransacked the cooler and ate my cherries, and Mr. Toad who showed up just when we discussing going to the store to offer us a wild ride there.

This is one of many reasons the clearing and development of those little residential and huge commercial lots all across the Cape needs to be stopped. How can we halt this sprawl and growth?

Out and about in Eastham. Today we went down the Smith Road trail. Usually we stop at the sentinel oak tree for a visit and don’t go any farther. That portion is lined with lots of cedars. Cedar trees have such a different feel than the lightness of the oaks. Also, we didn’t get to knit because the mosquitoes were so vicious today. They’d attack any time we stopped for a second!

Sometimes you knit the yarn, and sometimes the yarn knits you. After three separate attempts, to the frog pond it goes. But not before reaching a tourist about Judy's Magic Cast On as I was attempting to try the toe up sock. On to the back up project.
