My vision will take the Court in a New Direction. I am originally from Dalhart, Texas and moved to Lea County in 2000. I have since built my life in Lea County raising my children as a single parent while working three jobs at a time while putting myself through school. I currently hold a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice, Master's in Business Administration and recently attended the intense training
program Leading, Educating, and Developing in Charlottesville, VA where I received a Certificate that is equivalent to 40 hours of graduate course work. I am married to Bobby Arguello and together we have four children and two awesome grandbabies. They are the light of our lives! I have one son and family who reside in Hobbs, New Mexico, two daughters who reside in San Marcos, TX and one son and family who reside in Stillwater, OK. I have 13 years of judiciary experience from the Municipal Court level to the District level. While working for the District Court, I was cross trained in every area from financial, civil, criminal and domestic cases. I served as the jury clerk and court monitor for a Judge. I am currently the Court Administrator for the Hobbs Municipal Court. During my time I have made the necessary changes to ensure the Court runs efficiently and effectively to benefit the public. I vow to continue making changes making the Court and Judge accessible to the public. On September 5, 2016, the city adopted the Uniform Traffic Ordinance thereafter, I organized the Traffic Bureau which allowed me to change the house to accommodate the public (M-T, 7:30 -5:30 p.m. and Friday 8-12 p.m.). The change also allowed certain citations to be handled at the window instead of waiting in the courtroom for hours to see a Judge. The citizens are allowed to set up reasonable payment plans. I have secured reimbursements for the city within items budgeted in the Municipal Court. As the Court Administrator, I understand the primary role for the Municipal Court Judge is to serve the public fair, equally, unbiased, and impartially. Every citizen should be given the opportunity to be heard in the courtroom. I love the City of Hobbs, the people and my local community and look forward to great things for them in my capacity as Municipal Judge! I respect the law and will continue to be up-to-date with the constant law changes and apply my strong work ethic for the public. I intend to be fair, firm, and consistent in all issues before the Court and treat each case on an individual basis. I will continue to use effective procedures and use resources available to make much needed administrative improvements to ensure that the Municipal Court runs in a more efficient and effective manner for the public!
