Get out there and vote 🗳 today at your elementary school ONLY (the 10 that are open)

It’s a sound budget and there are 8 candidates running for 4 seats you can vote for UP a to 4 but don’t have to use all 4 votes

You can write in any names you’d like if you don’t want to vote for who is on the ballot but voting is a right many don’t have don’t take it for granting.

To my opponents in the order they will appear on the ballot

Stephanie Volpe
Kelli Burnham
Kristin Gelzinis
Alex Piccirillo
Bryan K. Felice
Laura Slattery
Christopher Buckley, Jr.
My name is position #8 Meredith Volpe

I wish you all a tremendous amount of luck. 🍀

I appreciate each of your stepping up and putting yourselves out there I know it’s not easy. 🥺

No matter which 4 of us win please always put the kids first.
Secure their future, don’t allow their rights or the rights of their parents be trampled on.
Give them the best education possible 📚 ✏️

Make sound decisions 💴 that you can be proud of and listen to YOURSELVES your own head and your own heart ♥️ it will lead you you the right vote.

Much will be asked of you as a trustee and the votes you make truly can change Sachem for the better or worse so please make sure you understand the gravity of each and every vote you put your name to.

Competition

Without Pepsi there would be no Coca Cola
Without UPS. FedEx would have no reason to do better.

I feel that everyone has a competitive side and in some it shows far more then in others. I happen to be a competitive person. I’m a sales manager it comes with the job 😉

I feel competition must ALWAYS be part of life so each of us has a reason to better ourselves but in a healthy way.

What I won’t stand for is unhealthy competition, meaning downing your opponent for the sake of making yourself look better.

If you’re good you stand up and you show your strengths not by pointing out others weaknesses.

I have been called many things during this election cycle and that’s ok I’m FAR from perfect but I will not sling the same mud. I have thick skin and can take it.

I have always proved myself to be someone who cares about the kids above all else. I wear my heart on my sleeve and won’t apologize for that.

As we get down to the wire with this election I would like to plead with each of you in Sachem to go out and VOTE 🗳

Voting is a right many do not have in their countries. It is our responsibility to hold that right dear and make our voices heard. Never ever take it for granted, Freedom is not free your rights were fought for and died for.

To my competition in this election I wish each of you the best of luck. Whomever wins please vote on that board with your heart and your head these students are our FUTURE!!

Take every moment of your term as a trustee seriously and always remember you are called a TRUSTee because your commUNITY trusts you you unite them in a way that puts the kids first while being a steward of the taxpayers money and making it a great place to work. It is possible to have all 3!!!!!

Win or lose I promise to always have the best interest of Sachem at heart. I will always advocate and speak up (can’t shut me up 🤣)

For those who say they won’t pass the budget to “send a message” this hurts the kids more than anyone else. The way to make change is to be the change you want to see. Get on committees give of yourself year round to make changes not just at budget and voting time.

Together we can make a difference and when our opinions differ it’s the best opportunity to seeek first to understand then to be understood and remember compromise is a beautiful part of life there should never be only one side getting their way!

Today I’ve had a bunch of people reach out to me about signs

Signs from another candidate have been popping up over the past few days strategically placed so they block mine and Chris’s …OK it is what it is this speaks to her character not mine.

My signs seem to have “fallen” flat on their faces at many of the schools… that damn wind however thankfully the wind only gets my sings at the public areas never on a private lawn so that’s a good thing thanks Mother Nature you’re a gem

While at Seneca the other day I saw a sign from another candidate it was ripped out of the ground and stepped on with footprints on it 😞

I dusted it off and placed it back in the ground so it was prominently displayed I say this not because I want a Pat on the back but because I want all who support me by follow my lead.

If you’re out there putting signs out on my behalf please do NOT place them in front of or touching anyone else’s signs. I have no worries about standing alone it’s sort of my thing lol

If you see another candidates sign down please pick it up and put it back where it belongs.

As a wise man told me today
Signs don’t win elections character and parents willing to fight for the kids do.

Please do the right thing even when no one is looking.

Today was my sons last ever CSE Meeting and like all the others in all the past years yes I cried 😢
This time they were happy tears 🙂 because he will be GRADUATING 👨‍🎓 with a regents dimploma!!!!
I can take credit for housing him in my body for 9 months and caring for him and nurturing and loving him for 18 years but this accomplishment is not at all mine it belongs to HIM and the staffs at Grundy, Seneca and Sachem North!!!!!!

The countless teachers who stood by his side to give the extra nudge or stood by my side telling me how to help him, especially when I myself didn’t understand the curriculum. 📚📙

The social workers and school physiologists who helped him understand his emotions and work through them. 💕💕

The school nurses who knew he was a frequent flyer and always knew when mom needed to be called and when I didn’t. 🧑‍⚕️

The principals and VPs who understood he was not always being a trouble maker sometimes he literally was in the wrong place at the wrong time and he just had that type of luck 🍀

The food 🍱 🍔 services staff who even though he didn’t have a lunch period 9th-11th they kept him well fed and nourished not only his body but his soul with their kindness.

It truly takes an entire commUNITY to get our kids from Kindergarten to GRADUATION and I can not THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU ENOUGH. 🙏

I’m putting this on this page so everyone involved can see it and so other parents who may be going through the same will see there’s so much light at the end of the tunnel. STAY IN THE FIGHT 💪 your kids are worth it!!!

Wishing a happy Mother’s Day 🌸 to all those who have taken on the title of Mom
This can be step mom, god mother grandmother , aunt, adoptive mom or even a woman who just mothered you along the way.

Being a mother is such an important job, part of our role is to always want what’s best for the children and sometimes that means fighting 💪 like crazy for them.
Standing up and advocating for them and not just the ones who call you mom but all children. I have done this for the kids for many years and hopefully with your vote to the Sachem School board I will once again get the opportunity.

God Bless all the Mothers Out there I hope Mother’s Day brings you all the love and happiness you each deserve and to the moms who have lost a child my heart is with each of you the pain is deeper than any other. 💜

Wow the words written here by former Trustee Bill Coggin truly made me cry
He’s a wonderful human being a great father husband and teacher and he was a great Trustee for Sachem
Thank your Bill for this endorsement

Dear Sachem Community,

For those in our community seeking guidance in the upcoming school board elections, I wish to offer my endorsement of Meredith Volpe for Trustee of the Sachem Board of Education. Of the six years I served on the Sachem B.O.E., my last three years were served with Meredith. During our time together on the B.O.E. Meredith was a stalwart advocate for the students and taxpayers of Sachem. If there is one thing that the people who know her can agree upon it’s the level of passion she brings to the task of being a trustee.
She is a tireless advocate for all students, but especially those that are most at risk of being overlooked or neglected. When it came to budgetary matters she could always be counted on to consider the long term implications of spending decisions. Whenever money is spent it is a benefit to some particular constituency. Under such a paradigm it takes fortitude and insight to go against spending that will bring a short term benefit when you know the long term cost is detrimental to the community. I know I can count on Meredith to hold the line on fiscal discipline in order to safeguard our community. This is absolutely necessary in order to prevent a return to the dark fiscal circumstances Sachem experienced and I inherited when first elected to the B.O.E.
People always say elected officials have an agenda. My response is, of course they do because they bring their ideas to the position they hold. The danger is that one’s agenda is self serving. I believe it’s fair to say that politics is filled with too many elected officials that are all about their own self aggrandizement. Meredith has proven, to me, that she is about doing good for the children of Sachem and the taxpayers, with no ulterior motives. If that were the only reason to vote for her it would be enough, for me, but we are fortunate there are many other attributes she possesses to be deserving of my support and yours.
Please vote for my friend Meredith Volpe for Sachem School Board Trustee.

Sincerely,
Bill Coggin
Sachem Trustee (2015-2021)

I’m not the person that talks about myself but lately I think I need to mind people how I always put kids first
• In 2020 I made bows for our graduates the community donated materials and I stayed up late every night making bows for all 1100 graduates just to help them feel better in a horrible time
• I painted the bathrooms at Grundy when my kids attended to make the school a happier place to go daily
•I pushed for those with special needs to NOT a have to endure hybrid schooling
• I pushed for in person schooling daily for all
• I pushed for masks by CHOICE
• I helped secure that one single maskless Monday in June 2021
• I helped pass out signs and bows to the Seneca 8th graders in 2020
•I pushed for one in person graduation for the class of 2021

The list goes in and on but those who know me know I put kids first
I believe the perfect trifecta is when you educate the kids to the best of your ability, while being fiscally responsible with the taxpayers hard earned money it will ensure a happy staff

What a great night thank you to all our supporters
