**ATTENTION**

Governor Tom Wolf has granted another extension to expired Concealed Carry Licenses. Licenses that expired on March 19, 2020 or later, now hold an expiration date of July 31, 2020. The previous extension was due to expire May 30, 2020, however has been extended to the later date.

As a reminder, Concealed Carry License applications and renewals are done ONLY by appointment until further notice. If you wish to renew or submit an initial application, please call our office to schedule a date and time. Mon-Fri 0800-1530 (814)693-3100

We recognize the difficulties of scheduling an appointment to process applications. To accommodate those who have been unable to schedule an appointment, we’re now offering evening hours 5:00pm-9:00pm, Monday-Friday, in addition to our already daylight hours.

The application process remains by appointment only. Please, make your appointment by calling (814) 693-3100. We will do our best to schedule you as soon as possible. Again, we are taking the health and safety of our community into consideration.

**SCAM ALERT**
It was reported that residents may be receiving phone calls from a male caller identifying himself as “Deputy Hall” from the Blair County Sheriff’s Office, reporting that you failed to appear for Jury Duty. The caller explains that as a result, you now have an active warrant for your arrest and that you must make monetary arrangements if you wish to vacate the warrant.
The Blair County Sheriff’s Office will never call to offer options for handling warrants or any other filings, however our office may call subjects to inform them of outstanding warrants or filings to arrange for such to be served. Our Office will never make monetary arrangements via phone or request any personal account information for any reason.

STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT PARTS OF BEDFORD...CLEARFIELD...
SOMERSET...BLAIR...AND CAMBRIA COUNTIES UNTIL 1000 PM EST...

At 855 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a
line extending from 6 miles southwest of New Bethlehem to 6 miles
northwest of Blairsville to 6 miles south of Morgantown. Movement was
east at 50 mph.

Wind gusts 40 to 50 mph are possible.

Locations impacted include...
Altoona, Johnstown, Somerset, Westmont, Windber, Ebensburg, Belmont,
Nanty-Glo, Portage, Northern Cambria, Curwensville, Geistown,
Southmont, Meyersdale, Berlin, Bellwood, Patton, Cresson, Gallitzin
and Friedens.

At 620 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated gusty showers along a line
extending from near Tyrone to near Windber. Movement was east at 35
mph.

Wind gusts 40 to 50 mph are possible.

Locations impacted include...
Altoona, Huntingdon, Hollidaysburg, Tyrone, Portage, Roaring Spring,
Bald Eagle, Martinsburg, Lakemont, Bellwood, Warriors Mark, Cresson,
Gallitzin, Claysburg, Loretto, Williamsburg, Duncansville,
Salix-Beauty Line Park, Tipton and Beaverdale-Lloydell.

BLAIR PA ALERT: 2/27/2020 until 7:30 PM EST for Blair Co, and Surrounding, Blair County, PA: SNOW SQUALLS AFFECTING PARTS OF THE AREA THROUGH EARLY EVENING.

HAZARDS...Scattered snow squalls, which can rapidly reduce
visibility to less than a quarter of a mile and create black ice.

SAFETY INFO... Use extra caution if you must travel into or through
these squalls. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick
roads are likely to lead to accidents. Consider delaying travel
until squalls pass your location. Allow plenty of stopping distance
and avoid braking suddenly.
