Kara Foster, OD - elected Town Councilwoman for Holly Springs. I bring two decades of patient care, community service, and practical problem solving to local government, and I’m committed to turning good ideas into real results. My priorities are clear, listenable, and measurable: safer, more walkable streets and greenways, healthier neighborhoods through better food access and prevention programs, attainable housing that keeps teachers and essential workers here, and an environment where local small businesses can thrive. I rely on evidence, town planning tools, and resident input to guide decisions, and I will always explain how and why I vote so our community can follow the process. I believe public service should be accessible, transparent, and focused on everyday improvements that make life easier for families, seniors, and working neighbors. What’s on your mind as Holly Springs grows? I’d love to hear from you before Tuesday’s Town Council meeting.

A few items on the agenda:
-Daventry rezoning and development agreement
-A three-year Housing Affordability Action Plan
-Main Street sidewalk connector construction

Tuesday, October 20, at 7 p.m., Town Hall, 128 S. Main Street, second floor. If you’d like to speak during public comment, sign up with the Town Clerk before the meeting begins!

One of the simplest ways we can make a difference in our community is by showing up and making our voices heard.

Lots of transportation talk today!!

We had a really productive Town Council workshop looking at where Holly Springs is today, what’s already underway, and what our next transportation priorities could be, from roads and intersections to sidewalks, greenways and better bike connections.

There’s still plenty to work through, but I’m glad we’re having these conversations and looking at how we can keep making real progress as our town grows.

Have questions or thoughts? I’m moving my W**e 100 listening session up a day this week, so come see me Thursday at 4 PM.

Social media has its place, but I still think the best, most honest conversations happen face-to-face, where we can actually listen to each other, ask questions, and talk through ideas together. Come chat with me. 💚

Approving a rezoning is not the same as approving construction.
A rezoning determines what types of development may be allowed on a property. Detailed engineering, permits, environmental reviews, and construction plans still must meet Town and state requirements before anything can be built.
