City of Holyoke Community Tree Pile Opening
The City of Holyoke is pleased to announce the opening of a Community Tree Pile located northwest of the grass dump on the west side of the city. Beginning June 5th, city residents may use the site to dispose of cut or broken tree branches and shrubs.
This program does not replace the City’s branch collection efforts following storms. Instead, it is intended to provide residents with an additional option for disposing of tree and shrub trimmings without needing to haul them to the landfill.
Tree Pile Rules
• Branches must be no longer than 8 feet in length and no larger than 4 inches in diameter.
• Only branches and shrubs may be dumped. No processed wood, metal, appliances, or trash of any kind will be accepted.
• Tree pile hours are Friday 10 A.M. through Monday 3 P.M.
• This is a pilot program for city residents, and cooperation is appreciated. If City personnel find unacceptable debris or materials in the pile, the program may be discontinued.
