B-Shift Station 1. Yo-Yo test practice.

B-Shift station 1 is preparing for the Yo-Yo test during some down time today.

As part of our physical fitness initiative, we plan to perform the Yo-Yo test, along with other measurements, to measure our members current level of fitness. We will then work with fitness experts to design a program for each firefighter to reach their maximum potential. All of this is designed to help our firefighters excel at the task required for their job.

How honored are Councilor Barry Smith and I to have lunch and spend time with some of Homewood’s finest Homewood Fire and Rescue on this most solemn of all days, September 11 🇺🇸. They are not only the bravest men and women we know, in addition to our Homewood Police Department, they are also the smartest, nicest and most rock-solid. We are lucky to have them serving Homewood. ❤️💙

This is the decal that is placed on each front line apparatus compartment door at HFD. The crews see this on the compartment door every shift as they do morning truck checks. We do not forget! 343 fireman ran their last call that day. On the 19th anniversary of September 11th, remember all the lives lost. Many men and women gave the ultimate sacrifice. Please take a moment today to remember and honor those lives.

Thank you guys SO MUCH for helping this sweet kitty last night! After a full day stuck in this tree, crying constantly for help, we could not have been more excited to see you walking up the street with your ladder! This storm is no joke and you are definitely heroes for making sure this baby wasn’t trapped in it! Homewood Fire and Rescue is the best!!!
