🇺🇸 From Higgins Boats to Modern Army Watercraft: A Legacy That Still Drives Us Forward

During WWII, American industry built 23,398 Higgins Boats, the craft that carried more than 150,000 Allied troops onto the beaches of D-Day landings 82 years ago today. That spirit of ingenuity became the blueprint for today’s U.S. Army watercraft fleet.

From the beaches of Normandy to the shores of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, the DNA of the Higgins Boat lives on. The U.S. Army Pacific watercraft community continues that legacy — delivering combat power, sustaining the force, and ensuring the U.S. Army can operate anytime, anywhere 💪
