Hawaii Family Caregiver Coalition

Hawaii Family Caregiver Coalition The Hawai‘i Family Caregiver Coalition's (HFCC) basic objective is to improve the quality of life for those who give and receive care in Hawai‘i.

The Hawai‘i Family Caregiver Coalition (HFCC) was formed in 2004 to develop new partnerships for a coordinated approach to addressing the needs of Hawai‘i’s family caregivers. The Hawai‘i Family Caregiver Coalition’s membership consists of government agencies at the state and local levels, nonprofit associations and advocacy groups, and businesses which serve older people and their families. Examp

les of current membership include the state Executive Office on Aging, the Maui County Office on Aging, the Kokua Council, and Project Dana. The Hawai‘i Family Caregiver Coalition is an affiliate of the National Alliance for Caregiving (http://www.caregiving.org/). Our Vision:
Family caregivers in Hawai‘i will be recognized, supported, and valued by the community, and will be provided with access to affordable, quality resources and services, thereby enhancing the lives of our ‘ohana. Our Goals:
1) To identify gaps in services; advocate for service expansion and policy formulation to fill such gaps; and support projects and programs which meet caregiver needs.
2) To promote education and outreach to non-professional caregivers, professional
caregivers, employers, the public at-large, and policymakers regarding caregiver needs, resources, and best practices.
