Today, I pause with gratitude and reverence to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country—may we never forget the cost of the freedoms we hold dear.

Today, we stop to remember the men and women who didn't come home. Not just to honor them in the abstract, but to actually sit with what they gave up — and what their families have carried ever since.

This Memorial Day, take a moment. Think of a name, a face, a story — someone who put on a uniform and never took it off for the last time.

We owe them more than a holiday. We owe them our memory.

Today marks Hoover’s 59th birthday, and there couldn’t have been a more fitting way to celebrate than gathering this past Sunday with the Hoover Historical Society as they welcomed their new officers. It was a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the city’s rich history while looking ahead to its continued growth and preservation.

Here’s to honoring Hoover’s past and building an even brighter future together.

It was a true pleasure to spend time at Bluff Park Elementary School's Annual Farmers Market and see firsthand the incredible work of our students. What they accomplished goes far beyond planting seeds—it’s a powerful example of how hands-on learning can inspire curiosity, responsibility, and pride.

Experiences like this are what make our community so special. They not only strengthen our schools but also bring us together in meaningful ways. I’m grateful to the teachers, staff, and families who supported this project—and most of all, I’m proud of these outstanding students for all they’ve achieved.

Great to see Hoover East Sports Park back open and full of life at Light Up the Park.

Safety was our top priority, and I’m proud we were able to complete this project quickly and responsibly with our partners at Alabama Power.

Thank you to our community for your patience—these fields are ready once again for our kids and families to enjoy.
