Thank you, Alyssa McKeon for Hopkinton Select Board for the mention! Alyssa, thank you for all of your work to help us understand how to phase out single-use plastics and reduce our town's waste! Small moves to reduce, reuse, recycle, and refill really add up, ultimately benefitting our entire community and the "democracy of species" that share this land. Citation: Kimmerer, R. W. (2015). Hi everyone! As part of my campaign, I’ve started putting up signs to help increase visibility and get my name out to more people. You may have noticed that Vicky Bram Select Board and I have opted to make our own signs, and I wanted to share a bit about why.
This decision speaks to our core values: using what we have to accomplish what we need and reducing plastic waste. We both believe keeping plastic out of our landfill is essential—not only for our environment but also for our wallets. After all, we pay to have our trash hauled away, which means we’re paying both to buy and to throw away.
Hopkinton is a special place, and the job of the Select Board is to advance the needs of the community while ensuring our infrastructure is well-managed. When choosing Select Board members, it’s important to consider the whole committee and how we complement each other.
Vicky brings a strong background in business administration and the ability to break down financial information in a way that’s understandable and actionable. I bring expertise in community engagement and project management—basically, getting things done and creating spaces where people can come together. We are each committed to making Hopkinton an even better place for everyone.
Long story short - we'd each love your support as we "interview" for the select board. Email Vicky at [email protected] to volunteer your yard for a "Vicky Bram for Select Board" sign. Email me (Alyssa) at [email protected] to volunteer your yard for a "Alyssa McKeon for Select Board" sign.
