Elect Deb Wemette

Elect Deb Wemette Hello, I am a small business owner of Churchill's fine ci**rs in the city of Hot Springs, going on 20 years. I have been married for 33 years.

As mayor I would advocate for an oversight board made up from community members. Vote for Deb Wemette

I want to thank everybody for their support!

Tonight I have the opportunity to speak to the firefighter and Police Union. I'm excited about doing that, because they are the backbone of our community. I want to find out what they need to do their job better and safely.

The mayor will help determine this along with the board. So make sure you know where everybody stands on this important issue.
I believe the library needs to decide what can be read, not our government.
Also beware of hidden agendas. Do you really need $200,000 to run a campaign for a non-paying job? Or is there another agenda? That's the question I ask myself.

What Act 372 Does Criminal Liability:
Creates a Class A misdemeanor (up to a year in prison) for librarians or booksellers who "furnish, present, provide, or make available" items considered harmful or obscene to minors.

Local Governing Authority: City and county bodies are granted the final say over whether challenged books or materials are relocated or restricted. Challenging Material: Anyone can formally challenge the appropriateness of items in a library, triggering local review or public hearings

It’s been just over one month since the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals struck down an injunction, letting Act 372 go into effect. Act 372 criminalizes the distribution of obscene material …

Why doesn't our community have a pool? With all this water and there's nowhere for a citizen to go swim, without joining a club. Even the lake shorelines are not people friendly, and are not maintained well enough for reliable public use. According to Google, Hot Springs has $178 million budget and the City of Benton has $24.3 million budget, so why do they have a pool and facility for their folks, but we don't? Also in Benton the mayor is the figurehead that makes things happen, he gets $115,000 a year yet our city manager who plays the same role as the Benton Mayor, makes $215,000 a year.
The problem is the leadership, and how they spend our money.
