Each year the national VFW, State, District, and Local organizations sponsor programs for local youth and teachers. This year CMDR Daniels has set goals of at least 3 winners in each of the areas. I am looking for people to work on this committee with me to help him reach his goals.

The theme this year is How are you showing Patriotism support for our Country.

The first is Patriot Pen for sixth, seventh and eighth grade student to express in a written essay

The second is Voice of Democracy, this is an oral reading of 9th thru 12th grade students to express their feeling.

The third is teacher of the year for outstanding teachers who teach patriotism

Please contact me to let me know how you can help. 501-620-0742 or messenger on facebook.

Updated and corrected copy.

It’s November and we are still very busy for this month. The Commander has partnered with The American Legion and several other Veteran’s Organizations to get a Veteran’s Day Parade. We are working on getting a float ready for this event. Let’s pull together and show our pride in our Veterans. We have a lot of events this month, so keep checking our Facebook and messenger pages.
Southern Conference is coming up quickly, anyone who has never attended is encouraged to do so. This year it is in Nashville.
Boo With A Badge was a success again this year. Glow On The Row was really fun also. Lots of costumes for both events. I will try to get pictures out for both events on the Historian Page within the next couple of days.
There will be a Spay and Neuter Clinic at our post on November 20th, 21st, & 22nd. This will be from 6:00 am to 6 pm. All three days. Any help with the fur babies will be greatly appreciated. You can help for as long as you feel comfortable, you do not have to be there the entire time.
We are trying to start doing a get together for the Auxiliary Members at the post on the second Thursday at 2 p.m. everyone is encouraged to come. This will be a time to get to know one another and have some fun.
Monique is doing Bingo at The Pines Nursing Home monthly, if you are interested in helping, please reach out to get the day and time. Since this is in coordination with the Activities Director, the dates are flexible.
Don't forget every Tuesday night we have Karaoke and Queen of Hearts, lots of fun for both events, so come see what it's all about. The Queen of Hearts Pot is over $10,000.00, and the winner takes half the pot.
Our next regular monthly meeting will be on Saturday, November 16th at 10:00 A.M. Please mark your calendars for this. We would love to see more members attend.
I am trying to keep everyone updated on all of the events we plan to hold this year. If you have any information on an event we should consider participating in, please feel free to let me know.

Just a reminder. I need volunteers to help as crossing guards for the "Glow on The Row" Halloween night from 4 to 8. We are partnering with "Fat Bottom Girls" again this year, the owner has asked that we help again this year. She will provide the vests, flashlights, and buttons for anyone who did not participate last year. We are to keep these items for the next year. She will also be giving us "Glow Sticks" to hand out to the kiddos (I have treat bags for each team to carry them in). This is a great way to get out and support our community. Also Karlene and Lise' need help with "Boo With A Badge" again this year.
