A few days ago, I shared about a daughter struggling with the guilt of finding assisted living for her dad.

Today, this is Dad.

Settling into his new home, participating in activities, surrounded by others, and most importantly — being cared for and safe.

And something else happened too…

His daughter can breathe again.

So can the rest of the family.

Choosing assisted living doesn’t mean you’re giving up on someone you love. Sometimes it means realizing that loving them also means making sure they have the care, support and attention they need — even when you can’t provide all of it yourself.

This is one of my favorite parts of what I do: seeing the worry on a family’s shoulders begin to lift once they know their loved one is okay.

Dad is taken care of. His family has peace of mind. And a new chapter has begun.

Today I helped another family find a place their loved one can call home. 💜

His daughter was emotional—grateful, relieved, and still carrying a little guilt after being one of his primary caregivers.

But choosing the right care doesn’t mean you’re giving up.

Sometimes it means you finally get to stop being the caregiver… and just be the daughter again.

To visit. To love on him. To make memories.
And to know he’s getting the care and support he needs.

Every hallway tells a story.

Today, it was the story of a daughter searching for a better home for her mom living with Alzheimer’s.

There were tears. There was guilt. There was uncertainty.

And there was love.

A lot of love.

When families tell me, “I feel like I’m losing my mom,” I understand what they’re trying to say. Alzheimer’s changes so much.

But I also remind them that their loved one is still worthy of connection, dignity, laughter, and belonging.

My role isn’t just helping families find a community.

It’s helping them find peace with one of the most difficult decisions they’ll ever make.

And that’s why I love what I do 🌺
