Ever since I was young, Essence showed me how to dream bigger than what I could see in my daily life. The magazine on the table, the festival on the horizon, proof that our excellence had a home. So a gathering like this during Essence weekend feels full circle: funders, founders, and community leaders convening inside the very culture that taught so many of us to imagine more. Sessions like this inspire our own work at New Bayou Living Labs toward a collective impact ecosystem across the Gulf South, where communities, institutions, and capital learn to move together.

Last week, the New Bayou team participated in the Comprehensive Plan Community Charrettes hosted by the City of Beaumont - Government and Able City. The presentations were informative and conversations were lively.
