✨Today, Commissioner Ramsey championed a resolution to honor Deputy Katie Fuentes at Commissioners Court. Deputy Fuentes, with Harris County Constable Pct. 3 - Constable Sherman Eagleton, goes above and beyond law enforcement-related services and duties. She is a role model for the students of Crosby ISD and the community where she performs acts of kindness and displays her compassion in caring for others.

Thank you Deputy Fuentes for building community trust in law enforcement and making personal connections with students that make an impact in their life. Your heartwarming smile and dedication show that law enforcement is a centerpiece of our community. 💙

Today we visited with the City of Baytown - Government, toured their 911 Facility, and met some of the hardworking individuals who respond to emergencies. We discussed the needs of Baytown and how we can work together to improve parks and roadways. We also stopped at Chevron Phillips to gain more knowledge of their operations. Baytown is booming with growth, and with that comes more need for better infrastructure and quality relationships with the industry. We’re excited to have Baytown as part of our new Precinct, and look forward to all the great things we’ll accomplish together!

Today, Commissioner Ramsey participated in the Public Safety forum for Northwest Harris County. When crime is at the forefront of everyone’s mind, it’s important that we all work together for a better and safer community. Thank you to all who attended and provided feedback! And most of all, thank you to the brave men and women in blue who courageously chose the path to be our protectors.

For this edition of Local Gov't 101: How much is each Commissioner responsible for?

Last week, we mentioned that County Commissioners are responsible for public works services for areas that are not located within cities, otherwise known as "unincorporated areas." Services include road reconstruction, storm debris removal, sign installation, right of way mowing, and more.
With the recent redistricting, the amount of unincorporated area responsibilities have changed. Here's the current data on road lane mileage responsibilities per Precinct for Harris County.
For more information, including the distribution of maintenance funds, tune into Commissioners Court tomorrow!

Today, Commissioners Court recognizes and celebrates the heroics of an undercover investigator with the Harris County Constable Office Pct. 5 Major Offenders Unit. He, who must remain anonymous, was instrumental in rescuing a 16-year-old human trafficking victim and apprehending the traffickers. He continued his support by ensuring she received the proper social services, counseling and medical care. He also arranged for transportation, meals, clothing, and helped her enroll in a GED program. We extend our sincerest appreciation to this investigator and to all members of law enforcement who make the ultimate sacrifice each day to make our communities safer.

Captain Turner accepted the resolution on behalf of Ted Heap, Harris County Constable Precinct 5.
