🚨 Signature collection begins THIS Thursday! SHARE to help your friends understand the issue and message us if you can volunteer.🚨

📃Basically, the “51% Rule” is from the state’s 1891 alcohol laws and requires most businesses selling alcohol to earn at least 51% of their revenue from food - unless repealed by a city.

🚫That bans not only pubs and lounges, but also many event venues, high-end restaurants, wine bars, and family entertainment businesses.

💸Since we’re one of the few Houston area cities that haven’t overturned this rule, we lose both talent and entertainment dollars to other communities and the tax burden continues to pile up on homeowners.

😣So Pearland has fewer entertainment options AND your hard-earned cash is lost to cities without this rule (Sugar Land, Webster, Houston, The Woodlands, etc).

🍾Repealing the 51% Rule means a happier, wealthier, and more fun Pearland. Will you help us by volunteering, donating, or sharing with friends?

Pearland needs more things to do. That’s why we’re working to get a repeal of the 51% Rule on your ballot this November to allow event venues, wineries, and family entertainment businesses to open in Pearland. We will soon be launching our effort to collect the 15,000 signatures required, but in the meantime:
