Lantrip Family a friendly reminder about Field Day 2016;

Our annual Field Day will be moved indoors due to the weather. Indoor Field Day will be held tomorrow Thursday, May 19th, for First grade starting at 8:30AM.

On Friday, May 20th, PREK through Fifth graders will participate in indoor Field Day from 8:30AM-12:30PM.

Parents are welcome to come cheer on their children, but space is limited. Please ensure your child wears comfortable clothes and tennis shoes.

Due to the expected weather for this week, we re having to alter out plans for the Centennial Celebration and International Festival. The performances will be indoors in our MPR. Due to occupancy limits, we will have two performances.

We will have a morning for PREK through Fourth Grade students at 8:30AM.

An afternoon performance for Fifth Grade students, parents and visitors at 12:30PM.

The Maypole dance will be rescheduled for next week. Butterflies will be distributed on Tuesday afternoon.

HISD officials continue to monitor the weather, and will notify you if any changes to tomorrow's district operations

HISD schools and offices are expected to re-open at their regularly scheduled time on Tuesday, April 19. Should that change due to deteriorating weather conditions, we will notify you.

The district make-up day will be May 26.

Earth Week at Lantrip begins today and so does the Plastic Grocery Bag Contest! Students are encouraged to bring their plastic bags to collect in the classroom through the week of April 18th-22nd. The class with the most bags will celebrate with a seed planting party with the principal on Earth Day!

Thank you to East End District for making this holiday season extra special for CIS students from East End! 36 brand new bikes were donated to the Wellness on Wheels program through Milby High School and distributed among our campuses.

CIS Student Support Specialists and their students and families came out to the event this past weekend to receive the bikes and celebrate with local representatives and community members.

This week, the CELF TX team hosted two more Green Career sessions for Lantrip Elementary fourth and fifth grade students! Thanks to Dan Reilly and Nicole Poulson for spending your morning with us! RMHC of Greater Houston/ Galveston, Inc. in partnership with UTHealth & Communities In Schools of Houston provide FREE dental care to children in need.
