Assessor Ramirez and County Clerk Hudspeth are in Round Rock this week for the 44th Annual Election Law Seminar, joining election officials from across Texas ahead of the November Election.

They also had the chance to meet Texas Secretary of State Robert S. Howden and exchange ideas on how we serve voters here in Harris County.

The Tax Office is always learning and growing to better serve you.

This 4th of July marks the 250th anniversary of our nation's independence, reminding us that democracy is built on the active participation of its citizens.

At the Harris County Tax Office, we are proud to support the cornerstone of that freedom: your right to vote.

Take a moment to celebrate our nation’s history—and ensure your voice is heard in our collective future. Check your voter status at hctax.net.

Our office will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observance of the holiday. We will resume operations on Monday, July 6th.

This past weekend, Assessor Ramirez joined Commissioner Rodney Ellis and community leaders to unveil the vision for Remembrance Park—a future space in downtown Houston dedicated to honoring and preserving Black history.

In addition, four historical markers honoring John Walton, Bert Smith, John White, and Robert Powell, were unveiled; men lynched in Harris County between 1890 and 1928. We remember their names and ensure their stories remain a permanent part of our collective consciousness.

Preserving history is key to understanding our past, educating future generations, and committing ourselves to a future where dignity and humanity are extended to all.

As we commemorate the end of slavery in the United States, may we all reflect on the work still ahead and recommit to build a more just and equal world together. Today we honor freedom, reflect on our history, and celebrate progress.

Please note that the Harris County Tax Office will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. We will resume regular business hours on Monday, June 22. In the meantime, you can continue to access our services 24/7 at hctax.net.
