147th Attack Wing

147th Attack Wing The 147th Attack Wing, at Ellington Field in Houston, TX, flies combat support missions 24/7 via adv Air Force or Department of Defense.

The stated mission of the USAF is to "deliver sovereign options for the defense of the United States of America and its global interests — to fly and fight in Air, Space, and Cyberspace." While this is an open forum, it's also a family friendly one, so please keep your comments and wall posts clean. Recognizing excellence in cyber defense

The 147th Mission Support Group Command Team recently presented commander’s coins to Airmen from the 147th Communications Squadron for their exceptional performance during Cyber Shield, the nation’s premier unclassified cyber defense exercise.

Cyber Shield brings together military, government, industry and international partners to strengthen cyber readiness and interoperability through realistic training in complex cyber environments.

The accomplishments of these Airmen reflect the expertise, professionalism and commitment that strengthen the 147th Attack Wing and its mission. Their performance during Cyber Shield highlights the important role our cyber professionals play in protecting the systems and networks that support national defense.

Readiness means being prepared to adapt.

Airmen with the 147th Attack Wing put their skills to the test this weekend during a wing-wide training exercise at Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base.

Through classroom instruction and hands-on scenarios, Airmen from across the wing tackled evolving challenges designed to test their ability to communicate, coordinate and respond in a dynamic operational environment.

The exercise brought together multiple units and specialties, reinforcing the teamwork and skills Airmen need to respond safely and effectively.

As the operational environment changes, our training must keep pace, strengthening our readiness for the challenges ahead.

Airmen of the 147th Attack Wing strengthened readiness and executed mission-focused training during this drill weekend at the 147th Attack Wing.

Force Support Airmen kept the force sustained and ready, Air Support Operations Squadron members worked on combatives proficiency and Civil Engineers maintained and packed expeditionary equipment to support future operations. Training, sustainment, and preparation remain central to mission success across the wing.

Each drill weekend reinforces the wing’s ability to respond, support, and execute when called. Texans serving Texans anytime, anywhere.
