National Night Out will be Tuesday, October 6, 2026. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. Neighborhood groups organize block parties or cookouts and are visited by local first responders. Nassau Bay Police Officers, Nassau Bay Volunteer Fire Department and City Staff will make their rounds to visit each registered event location.
We want to bring the party to the neighborhoods so there is a better opportunity for residents to meet those that live next to them. This also allows Police Officers, Firefighters, and City Staff more time to spend visiting with the residents by going to each registered block party. Go to our NNO webpage for more information and register your event.

Today we take time to remember the horrific events of 25 years ago when 71 police officers, 343 firefighters and thousands of civilians lost their lives in the attacks at the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Arlington, and a field in Pennsylvania as the final resting place of Flight 93. 9/11 is now known as Patriot Day. So, on this Patriot Day we honor and remember those first responders who never hesitated to move forward into the unknown to save others and eventually made the ultimate sacrifice. We will never forget.

We wish everyone a happy and safe Labor Day. Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers and is traditionally observed on the first Monday in September. It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894.
We want to thank our police, fire, EMS, and other public workers who are working today while most of us celebrate the holiday relaxing.
