My Brother’s Keeper Outreach Center, is a sustainable 501-C3 non-profit organization that provides effectual assistance in throughout Harris County in Houston, TX to stabilize and strengthen individuals and families in crisis - assistance that will not only enhance their quality of life but will foster strong, competent, economically self-sufficient citizens who are positive contributors in our society.

PROGRAMS / SERVICES
Client Services interviews each individual to determine the most effective way that MBK can assist them through their crisis and help them to obtain self sufficiency. MBK serves any one qualifying for services without regards to race, gender, ethnicity or religion.
Assistance can be any or all of the following: Food pantry – individuals or families who qualify and are in need receive a weeks worth of groceries and may return for services once every 30 days. Clothing – individuals or families who qualify and are in need may choose two outfits for each member of their family, once monthly. Financial Assistance – individuals or families is provided for a documented crisis, primarily for rent and utilities. Clients that are seeking employment may sign up to use our computer room for internet access. Also, they are given information on any jobs that we may have information on at the time of their visit.
Is offered to anyone wanting to see a certified counselor. Appointments are set for a future date.
The Food Pantry supplies food to individuals and families who have established a need through Client Services.
The MBK Pantry depends on food drives, individual donations and financial contributions to provide its services. During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays special packages are prepared and distributed.
Financial Assistance is provided for a documented crisis, primarily for rent and utilities. A partial amount of the bill or rent/mortgage is paid through promissory voucher, until all funds have been obtained by the client.
Employment / Education Center
Our employment and education center provides the following: Computer access to create resumes and/or update resumes. Internet access for on-line job search. In addition, employment postings from businesses in our community and the Houston area are posted on our bulletin board.
Basic computer classes of MS Office are offered throughout the year. In addition, we have ESL, SSL (Spanish as a second language), Money Management, Professional Etiquette, Life Management, Interviewing Techniques and Resume Writing classes offered throughout the year. And finally, we have some basic job skills training in business (i.e., receptionist training, customer service training, and dress for success training) these classes are also offered at different times throughout the year.
School Supply Drive – As the new school year approaches students need to be equipped with the required items to help ensure that they are successful learners.
Each year MBK receives donations of school supplies and purchases grade appropriate school supplies for the students registered in the Inspiring Minds School Supply Program.
Thanksgiving Meal Program – Each year MBK provides many clients with a traditional Thanksgiving meal that can be prepared to their own liking. These families otherwise would not have a Thanksgiving meal without our help.
Christmas Meal Program - Each year MBK provides many clients with a traditional Christmas meal that can be prepared to their own liking. These families otherwise would not have a Christmas meal without our help.
Children’s Christmas Social – Each year MBK gives children from one year old to sixteen years of age a present. Without this gift, many of these children would not have any Christmas presents.
Easter Outreach Social – Each year MBK gives children from one year old to twelve years of age an Easter basket with a set of Resurrection Eggs. We also celebrate with other outside activities and refreshments.
