"Delores from Zion Lutheran Church sent my mom a Valentine’s care package," family caregiver Angy said. "We wanted to thank her! My mom really loves everything! It was very thoughtful and makes us feel very good to be thought of!"

Our volunteers do an amazing job of making sure our care partners (clients) and their caregivers always feel loved. A huge thank you to all of our volunteers! Learn more about Angy and Trish's story: https://carepartnerstexas.org/annualfund/

“We are coming up with a way for our care partners and their caregivers to come and be with us for ten, fifteen minutes and just get a break from their boring routine and see some old friends, do some dancing, singing songs and playing a few games – trying to stay safe while still having fun,” CarePartners volunteer Heidi Fallon said.

This past week, three Gathering Place Care Teams in the Clear Lake area, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Clear Lake United Methodist Church, and Clear Lake Presbyterian Church, put their heads together and planned a Tri-Team Valentine's Day Drive In. Twenty-five volunteers in their Valentine finery took positions throughout the parking lot to greet our guests with smiling eyes, gifts from the heart and more Valentines than could fit in a decorated shoe box! The comment of the day that made our hearts go pitty-pat? “You all are so special and bring us so much joy!”

“I want to thank you for the beautiful Gathering Place event," said family caregiver Sherry. "We appreciate you and all the volunteers who gave their time and effort to make us feel so loved. These events mean more than you can know!”

Creating Caring Communities

Since 1985, CarePartners has partnered with congregations, organizations and other nonprofits to provide practical assistance and emotional support to family members who are caring for people with Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory loss and other challenges due to aging. CarePartners brings caring volunteers together with families in need of support in order to make life better for the weak and vulnerable and for those who serve them. At CarePartners, we are uniquely qualified to provide support to this vulnerable population because we utilize the award winning, evidence-based Care Team® model, which provides essential care to vulnerable populations and their caregivers through volunteerism. Over the past 33 years, CarePartners volunteers have delivered more than 2 million hours of care. We serve more than 3,000 families annually, and train and organize nearly 2,500 volunteers to support our programs and those we serve. Through the past three decades we have become experts in the area of providing support and enrichment in the lives of those suffering with memory loss and their caregivers.

Thank you, Care Partners! Mom received her care package today (understandably late - the post office has quite busy lately, I'm sure). She was so excited! The work you do has made a huge difference in her life and we appreciate you more than I say.
Thank you for the virtual gathering and we enjoyed learning about Disney and we enjoyed Rodney Raspberry's music as well.
Just wanted to send out a big THANK YOU for dropping off the surprise package for my mom. She was so exited to receive it, and was thrilled with the contents. There is not a lot for her to get excited about these days, so I'm very grateful to you all.
