11/24/2020

Beginning next week, METRORail's Red Line will offer modified service to allow work crews to complete a major rail improvement and maintenance project. Transit service modifications will begin at the start of service Monday, Nov. 30, 2020, and continue until the end of service Saturday, March 6, 2021.

Free two-way bus shuttle service will replace train service between Fannin South and TMC Transit Center stations during this period. Bus shuttles will run every 10 minutes or sooner. On weekdays, METRO will also offer free shuttle service between the Smith Lands parking lot and the Texas Medical Center campus. METRO staff and/or platform signage will direct riders to board at nearby bus shuttle stops. A list of shuttle stops can be found here.

Red Line customers should allow additional travel time through March 2021 as METRO performs track work along the line. Shuttle buses will operate more frequently than train service to reduce waiting; however additional time is required for transferring between bus and rail.

METRO's TRIP App and Next Bus Arrival Texting service may not reflect accurate departure and arrival information during this time. Please monitor METRO's Twitter and pages for updates. METRO also offers real-time information through its service alerts system.

Customers may also contact METRO's Customer Service Center at 713-635-4000 if they have any questions or need trip planning information.

METRO's Board continues its commitment to offer the public cleaner, safer rides. In a unanimous vote today, the Board approved a cleaning contract and the installation of fiberglass seat inserts on light rail vehicles. Both actions will help enhance cleanliness on METRORail trains and extend enhanced cleaning protocols the Authority put into practice earlier this year in response to COVID-19. In addition to overnight deep cleaning and fogging of surfaces, METRO vehicles are also cleaned during the day while they are in service. Read this and more: https://bit.ly/3pNCbwG ^S

Any specific reason Metro chooses NOT TO ENFORCE wearing a mask on the train? Only interested in fare checks but no mask checks? Everyday half of the ridership do not wear masks. They enforce the fare but not the mask rule. Why?
So what happened to the 45 going to Hempstead hwy at 10:03 now y’all talking late not until 10:42 Wow and this by your schedule thank you for making me super late to work yet this my second bus that didn’t show up 9:55 considering I been sitting sitting out here since 9:45
I’m tired of being late Messing with this unprofessional driver late from start but got nerve to take a store break but mind you his break up s Hempstead highway I’m on the 45 Tidwell Hempstead hwy picked up late sitiing in side waiting on this late unprofessional man doing his thing on company times
Good Morning I can’t seem get on 6:38 bus 209 Inbound second straight day at Kuykendahl Park and Ride because seating capacity. I arrived and saw line long long line within 10 minutes of next bus. We need a back up bus and supervisor. Or maybe front bus 6:15 bus no show. Please do Something
Why are trains on the Red Line stopping at Casa De Amigos and forcing riders to wait for another train? Makes no sense to the general public. Also, there is a pandemic going on and most of us want to minimize how many trains we have to take. Metro never makes any sense. Ever.
Why isn't the Red Line closure the first post on this page? People shouldn't have to go to the website every time. You can't just use Facebook to praise initiative, name awards you've received or any of that other useless, PR propaganda that riders really don't care about. Transportation is your purpose: when you can't fulfil it, say so.
Kuykendahl park and ride 7:15 AM this morning. First two buses were full, I had to catch the THIRD bus. Running fewer buses is a bad idea as more people are returning to work.
Good Morning METRO needs do something about park and rides. I didn’t get on two busses because seating capacity. I ride 209 North Corridor from Kuykendahl. This is second straight day I didn’t get on bus of seating capacity. Leaving me and riders behind. LONG LONG Line. Please assist. Maybe you need bring back 202 Kuykendahl and 204 Spring.
This morning, I couldn’t get on 6:38 Inbound 209 Kuykendahl Park and Ride Because Sesting Capacity. The drivers should b allowed to have seating around the wheelchair area after the bus leaves Spring and there are no wheelchair passengers at Kuykendahl.
Does anyone know where the 209 bus is? We have been waiting since 5pm
Good Afternoon Just Wondering What’s The Latest For Park and Rides Effective Next Month Of November. I Ride 209 Kuykendahl/Spring North Freeway. Thanks Nelson C.
It would be nice if park and ride drivers checked their wheelchair lifts before leaving the garage. The 6:08 bus out of Kuykendahl didn't work and had to wait for the 6:18 express bus for downtown. I am disabled and use a wheelchair to get around. This is the first time riding Metro in a long time and it makes me wonder how many park and ride buses operating today have lifts that don't work.
