We all love our pets, so it's important to consider fire safety and pets when trying to warm your home. It's important to keep pets at least 3 feet away from optn fires and space heaters. This helps avoid pets being burned, or them accidently knocking over a space heater or other warming device. Pro heating tip: if you are going to use a space heater, make sure you use space heaters that have an automatic shut-off—if they tip over, they shut off.

Aldine Fire & Rescue would like to spotlight one of their members each week entitled Member Trivia Tuesday!

The Member Trivia Tuesday is an opportunity to get to know the men & women who serve Aldine each and every day.

We also will post a guessing game each week, winners who guess correctly will be chosen randomly & contacted via messenger for a special Aldine Prize.

This week’s Member Trivia Tuesday: District Chief Rick Reeg!!!

Chief Reeg has been with the department as a District Chief since 2018, Reeg came to Aldine with 22 years of experience in the fire service. A future goal that he has pertaining to the fire service would be to improve county-wide training resources and opportunities. In his free time, he enjoys doing woodwork projects and playing hockey. Thanks for your great work Chief Reeg!

FOR FUN:
Please choose A, B, C in the comments and guess which FUN FACT applies to Chief Reeg:

A. Wanted to be a High-School Teacher.
B. He played Soccer.
C. His favorite food is liver and onions.

The correct answer will be posted in the comment section on Thursdays!

HCESD No. 24/Aldine Fire & Rescue has purchased 2.5 acres of land directly adjacent to Fire Station 31 for the construction of its first administration building. Moving the administrative personnel from the Fire Station 31 to a new building will allow more space for future enhancements to service delivery from Fire Station 31, as well as allow the administrative personnel a more spacious, modern, and office-like atmosphere.

We would again like to thank the residents, business owners, and board of commissioners for their support as we continue to grow in service to our community.

It’s fireworks season and I want to remind everyone that fireworks are beautiful, but can be very dangerous. Ringing in the New Year and fireworks go hand and hand. But, ringing in 2021 will probably look a little different. The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office encourages anyone choosing to use consumer fireworks, to do so safely.
