If you live in Texas, or if you know someone in Texas who has lost their job or needs help to pay their electric bill - COVID-19 Electric Bill help from Texas Public Utility Commission

On 3/26/2020, the Public Utility Commission of Texas issued a plan to help "Texas utility customers who are experiencing genuine economic hardship as a result of the pandemic." All customers are eligible for a deferred payment plan. Additionally. a customer "who qualifies for unemployment benefits and is in genuinely dire economic straits as a result of COVID-19" may get some part of the electric bill paid from the COVID-19 Electricity Relief Program.

How do individuals sign up for the program?

Step 1) The individual must call our call center at 1-866-454-8387 and provide information

Required Information
1. First and Last Name of person associated with the account
2. Service address with city and zip code
Optional, Great to have
1. Account number
2. ESID number
3. Last four social of the person associated with the account
4. Telephone number associated with the account

Step 2) 1) the individual must submit a copy of the acceptance from Texas Workforce Commission within 30 days of calling to be put on list. Additionally, we will request a copy of their electric bill so we can make sure the information in our data base will match with the REP information provided.
