Today we are highlighting William. William is a young entrepreneur from Florida. Since graduating from college in 2019, William has been extremely active. From being a self-employed author writing children’s books, designing logos for companies, and creating personalized emojis for individuals, serving on the board at a local nonprofit, and being a member of Toastmasters International!

We want William's story to inspire you and help you to pursue your dreams. Whether that means starting your own business or simply volunteering your time to help others- you never know what will happen next!

Have you ever felt like you were missing something?

That is exactly how Chanel felt. At 28 years old, Chanel is a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst and Doctoral student who was recently diagnosed with ASD. Confused and feeling a jumble of emotions, Chanel had a lot to process.

Fortunately, Chanel has been able to rely on her extensive education and professional training in the field of behavioral science to help her better understand her own diagnosis.

The Puddle Patter by Moxy
I meet a Puddle Patter
And he’s careful not to splatter
Any moist or muddy matter
On the pavement and my sweater.
I ask him as he huddles
Why he bothers patting puddles.
“Well, I used to give them cuddles
But I ended up much wetter.”

This poem was taken from edition 102 of The Spectrum Magazine from The National Autistic Society. To read more pieces like this, follow this link: https://bit.ly/37z1qec

Meet Barrington Campbell! Barrington is an incredible man with a desire to help those with Autism around him. "Online gaming means those with ASD can play in an environment we feel comfortable in and can control — if it’s not going well on screen, we can get into our safe spaces." He is an entrepreneur, a streamer, and a strong advocate in helping aid others on the spectrum.

Diagnosed with autism when he was 30 years old. Barrington felt like an outcast from others due to his "extreme" emotions. After discussing with his therapist, he came to the realization that he may have autism. Completely unaware of what this might mean to him, he began researching it. Finally, he had an answer to why he felt this way. By the next week, Barrington came back having written three tabletop games about understanding emotions and started his own company, Kagai Games. He creates "tabletop games and video content aimed at people on the spectrum and people who have depression and anxiety to help them interact and form a community."

Recently, the U.S. House of Representatives made some big moves in the right direction!

For the first time in over a decade, the House of Representatives increased funding for autism-related activities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), thanks to a bipartisan $10 million amendment that was offered by Autism Caucus Co-Chairs Reps. Mike Doyle and Chris Smith. This funding will allow CDC to expand their work in understanding the prevalence of ASD, racial/ethnic disparities, access to services, and transition to adulthood.

The House of Reps. also passed a package of annual spending bills, including a call upon the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to increase research focused on health equity and racial/ethnic disparities in the autism community. It also includes a look at individuals with ASD across their lifespan and co-occurring medical conditions they may experience.

ABA Therapy for Autism Spectrum Disorders

Providing Quality ABA Therapy to Families Seeking Support

If your child has been diagnosed with autism, it’s never too late or too early to begin making progress with behavior therapy. The earlier the intervention, the better the results. Your child learns differently than others, but with the right treatment and encouragement they will be able to make academic and social achievements in their own unique way.

We work with students with a range of special needs, including Asperger’s, autism, speech delays and other developmental and intellectual disabilities. A diagnosis is not required to apply for admission (although it will be required for your insurance company for reimbursing expenses.)

We have helped a wide range of children with different developmental disabilities, so if you feel your child could benefit from our treatment give us a call today, we’ll develop a personalized treatment plan that will help your child to succeed to their full potential.
