Tatanka District - Sam Houston Area Council The Boy Scouts of America
Since 1910, Scouting has helped mold the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes and, through nearly a century of experience, understands that helping youth puts us on a path toward a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society. The Boy Scouts of America celebrated its one-hundredth anniversary on February 8, 2010.

The Tatanka District, inside the Sam Houston Area Council, servers the Alief area of Houston though scouting with programs geared towards the enrichment and development of its youth.

Mission: Scouting teaches self-reliance, strength of purpose and conviction of character.
