It has been a tradition of the Houston Hispanic Forum to select student ambassadors for our annual Career and Education Day. We would like to request your assistance in submitting one to four of your outstanding seniors to serve in this prestigious role.
The selected student ambassadors serve as role models for thousands of their peers. As spokespersons for Career and Education Day, ambassadors garner favorable publicity and positive recognition for the schools and districts they represent. In addition, students have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet community leaders, public servants, and local sponsors that care about education.

The Gates Scholarship (TGS) needs your help in identifying America’s top minority students who may be eligible for a prestigious scholarship.
TGS is a highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors. Starting in 2018, the scholarship is being awarded to 300 student leaders each year, with the intent of helping outstanding minority students who come from low-income backgrounds realize their maximum potential.
Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance that is not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Costs covered include tuition, fees, books, room and board, and may include additional personal costs. TGS also provides Scholars with various online support services designed to help them excel in their degree programs, graduate, and make a successful transition to their chosen careers. These include mentoring, academic support, career and internship guidance, advice, and job opportunities. Gates Scholars will also be connected to a network of accomplished peers that they can tap into for support and advice.
We ask for your assistance in identifying students in your area who may be eligible. Please click the link below and follow the instruction to refer a student.
Refer a Student Today: https://www.thegatesscholarship.org/referrals

*For American Indian/Alaska Native, proof of tribal enrollment will be required.
As part of our application process, we will be verifying some student information, including tribal membership for students who identify as American Indian/Alaska Native. Students who are selected as semifinalists will be asked to submit a verification form through their tribal enrollment office to verify membership in their stated nation.
