The accomplishment of the goals of any educational institution depends on the successful interaction of the administration, the faculty and the students. It is the faculty which carries out the institution’s primary function, the education of students, and it is the proximity to both students and administration which puts the faculty in an advantageous position to assess student and institutional needs. Therefore, it is prudent and necessary that the faculty play a role in the planning, policy-making, and decision-making processes of that institution. And that's what we do. We are the Faculty Senate of the Houston Community College District. (Technically we're the Faculty Advisory Council, but everyone just calls us the Senate).

Mission: We are the HCC Faculty Senate. We are the voice of the faculty to all stakeholders in the Houston Community College District. This page is designed to increase the Senate's visibility to the community at large, and to serve as a forum for the Senate to address the community and for the community to address the Senate.
