Every year, we commission 3-4 artists with the goal to promote and sustain Houston’s artist communities. The artists we've selected work across all performing arts disciplines.
The commissioned work is performed in the Cullen Theater at the Wortham Center as part of our mainstage season.

Group Acorde is a performance company formed by two contemporary dancers; Roberta Paixao Cortes and Lindsey McGill, and two improvisational musicians; Thomas Helton and Seth Paynter. Their mission is to cultivate and educate diverse audiences through live, thought-provoking, original, and affordable performance collaborations between contemporary dance and experimental music.
