Hello, Jerry Davis, My name is Gazzia Aleman and I’m writing on behalf of Pantsuit Republic and the community in general. In light of the recent murder of George Floyd, and the protests that occurred in Houston, I am calling on you to vote for the amendments to the city budget proposed by Council Member Plummer. We also continue to ask for accountability and body camera footage of the murders by police of Adrian Medearis, Nicholas Chavez, Christopher Aguirre, Randy Lewis, Rayshard Scales, and Joshua Johnson. Please consider supporting your colleague Council member Leticia Plummers budget amendments that speak to some of our demands and asks and that provide further guidance on holding police accountable by re-purposing funding for an independent police oversight board with subpoena power, and increasing deescalation training. Here is an example of the tactics employed by HPD that we oppose: https://t.co/xLvtulOYNa?amp=1 . Here is an example of the tactics employed by HPD: https://t.co/xLvtulOYNa?amp=1 Before your vote on June 10th we ask that you consider all these factors before voting for the almost $1 billion budget for HPD that accounts for 17.2% of our city budget. Our communities deserve to feel safe and protected and that can be accomplished through funding for health and human services, public housing, mental healthcare, but not always police. Remember that not all communities, especially black and brown communities feel safe calling the police in a time of emergency. This money could be put to use more efficiently and I have confidence that you will know best where else it should be redistributed. Thank you.
I'm going to put your name out there, so people can see what kind of uncle tom you have become, our streets are in need of tall speed bumps, our ditch flood because of poor drainage, there are empty homes being used by crack heads, 3200 block of Orlando street, 77093.
Sir, you stated you need 5k a month just for your kids, but never address what the income was for entire families are in Houston monthly. I bet it is not 5k, nor should I have to inform you BC you see the despair everyday. Do not pretend to be a crusader, when you have the luxury to allow your children to be able to ( your words) " give and sell" honey. Give and sell...so contradictory. I learned early on the latter is usually the intent. You are on a sinking ship, adapted to colonialism; yet, you will still not put SERVICE ABOVE YOURSELF. DO BETTER.
When is the heavy trash in Greenridge North going to be picked up? We call 311 and get the same crap answer, they are running behind. This has been going on for 6 months, same BS same lack of adequate management. I cannot wait to see this administration change in November. Inept and ineffective management at ALL levels. I will be campaigning for whoever runs against Sylvester Turner and Jerry Davis.
when are you community to Kashmere Garden, everything looks the same here.
The community responded to this post and asked if you would help clean up Laura Koppe from Lockwood to Homestead.
Good afternoon everyone! We just wanted to take the time to update you all on what is currently going on with the fight to save Ms. Shirley’s home. This past Wednesday the constable’s office called and said they could no longer have the eviction on hold and would be out to enforce it. They stated that the county contracted movers to move all of her belongings out on the street and to remove her from her home. Due to Ms. Shirley’s unethical previous attorney not even showing up to court, the judge granted the eviction due to their not being a response from Ms. Shirley’s representation. Thanks to all of you and your generosity, Ms. Shirley was able to retain a new attorney, Eraka Childs to assist her with saving her property. Upon the in depth research that Ms. Childs and her team did, they found that Ms. Shirley’s home is sitting 100 feet left of where her deed states that it should be. While the constable’s office and movers were sitting at Ms. Shirley’s home waiting to evict her and her belongings, an tough agreement was met. In order to not be thrown out within the hour, Ms. Shirley has to agree to move her home over 100 feet and was given 1 month to do it. Seems like a victory..... However, 100 feet to the left is a wooded area. Which means, the land would need to be resurveyed, cleared of the trees, utilities initiated, etc. At this point all of what needs to be done on this very tight time frame is nearly impossible. In conjunction with the fact that if it’s not done she will still be evicted and ultimately homeless. In all of this confusion, Ms. Shirley’s health has started to decline. The same day that the constable called, she was having a heart procedure to implant a defibrillator to assist with her extremely low heart rate. The very next day, with no recovery, in bandages and an arm sling she was in court fighting to save her home. She desperately needs your help! All of the help so far has gotten her to this point and she is so grateful. Please continue sharing her story. And if nothing more make sure that the senior citizens in your family and community are protected from vicious developers and those that prey on the sick and elderly.
