Nrotc Houston, Texas NROTC Scholarship Coordinator, Senior Chief Petty Officer Barbara A. Vasquez The NROTC Scholarship is available to High School graduates who meet the minimum eligibility requirements (http://www.nrotc.navy.mil/index.aspx) to attend the university of their choice in the degree of their choice at no cost to them.

The scholarship is valued at $180k to include tuition and fees, some universities offer room and board with the scholarship, book allowances each semester and a monthly allowance. Immediately upon graduation appointment as a commissioned officer with only a 5 year commitment to the US Navy. There is no job searching upon graduation, no college loans to pay and immediately receive all the benefits the Navy has to offer(http://www.navy.com/) Navy Recruiting District Houston has a selection rate of 38% of persons whom apply. Scholarships for the graduating class of 2016 were awarded to the following universities: Yale, The Citadel, Virginia Military Institute, University of Texas, Texas A&M, Rice University, University of Houston, University of San Diego, University of Colorado, Embry Riddle, University of VA and many more. There are almost 200 universities whom have a ROTC unit and are available through the NROTC Scholarship

Mission: To identify, and assist young men and who qualify for the NROTC Scholarship to complete a quality application in hopes of them being selected to attend the university of their choice in the degree of their choice with a guaranteed job as Naval Commissioned Officer.

Navy ROTC Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

The Navy adheres to strict moral, physical and academic standards. This applies to students in the NROTC program. Here is a list of some of the basic requirements to apply for the program. You must:

Be a U.S. citizen
Be not less than 17 years old by September 1 of year starting college and no more than 23 on June 30 of that year
Not have reached your 27th birthday by June 30 of the year in which your graduation and commissioning are anticipated
Have acquired a high school graduation or equivalency certificate by August 1 of the year you plan to enter the NROTC program
Have no moral obligations or personal convictions that prevent conscientious bearing of arms and supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic
Be physically qualified by Navy standards
Not have 30 or more semester hours or 45 or more quarter hours of college credit upon application
