UHCOP AMCP

UHCOP AMCP AMCP at UH College of Pharmacy educates student pharmacists about the different aspects of the growing field of Managed Care. The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) is a national organization that strives to expose pharmacy students to fields of pharmacy that exist beyond the typical notion of pharmacists in retail or hospital settings.

The AMCP Chapter at UH College of Pharmacy was the first student chapter to be established in Texas, when it was chartered in 2012. Managed care pharmacy is a rapidly growing field of pharmacy in Texas, and AMCP at UHCOP wishes to give its members ample opportunity to explore all that this field can offer. The AMCP vision statement is to improve healthcare for all, which is done through the vast resources available through the national chapter. Our chapter offers insight to the lesser known aspects of the pharmaceutical world through its diverse speakers, the P&T competition, the annual round table event, internship databases, mentor/mentee matching program, health fairs, on-site tours, and its legislative outreach programs.

Hello Everyone! Today marks the last event of the year with the AMCP Student Pharmacist Academy webinar. To recap on what we've done this month:

**AMCP/IPhO Pathway to Industry Fellowship and Managed Care Residency Series Part 3:

In this series, we had over 50 participants attending with guest from University of North Carolina and University of Texas. Our guest speakers spoke extensively about the application process for both Managed Care Residency and Fellowship as well as amazing tips on how to be prepared for Midyear. We would like thank our speakers: David Giang, Emily Boesch, Kim Dinh, and Grace Pham for the wonderful advice as well as everyone who attended. This webinar was a huge success!

**AMCP Student Pharmacist Academy: Understanding the Fundamentals of Prescription Drug Pricing and the Supply Chain:

In this webinar, we had the pleasure of AMCP hosting a panel that allowed AMCP student members from across the country share ideas and accomplishments with each other. Additionally, students who attended were able to get a brief introduction to the fundamentals of how prescription drugs were priced and the supply chain model. We had some amazing panelists and would like to thank Alyza King and Irene Huang for being part of it and representing UH!

This concludes UH AMCP Spring Semester and we look forward in seeing you guys in the Fall Semester. Good luck on your upcoming exams!

I have a friend up north asking about CER/ICER or the Delphani grading tool. I did not use these in residency nor have ever heard of them in the field. I was wondering if your Chapter has used these tools in a P&T Competition and know about these? If so, if you have any tools or references to share, I would greatly appreciate it! Please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] or message me on Facebook. Thanks!
Very informative informational! :)
