Commissioner R. Jack Cagle released the following statement this afternoon:
“I have been monitoring with great concern the tragic unfolding of events in Washington today. While the right to protest is among our most precious rights, there is no excuse for the lawlessness, vandalism and violence we saw at our nation’s Capitol today, and it must stop. America is a nation of laws, and the law must prevail.”

Harris County Fire Marshal

Planning to welcome the new year with fireworks? Harris County Fire Marshal Laurie Christensen has some important reminders to share to help you stay safe while celebrating. 🎆

It’s fireworks season and I want to remind everyone that fireworks are beautiful, but can be very dangerous. Ringing in the New Year and fireworks go hand and hand. But, ringing in 2021 will probably look a little different. The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office encourages anyone choosing to use consumer fireworks, to do so safely.

Harris County and CenterPoint Energy Agreement Provides New Options for Trail Development:

Harris County residents could see hundreds of miles of new trails over the next decade after Commissioners Court approved an agreement with CenterPoint Energy last month.

The agreement will make it easier for Harris County to build trails along utility corridors and link parks and trail systems across the county.

So far, most trail development in Precinct 4 has been along waterways and bayous. The agreement opens new possibilities for trail connections.

County Government Explained

"A little more than half of Harris County’s residents live in incorporated cities – Houston, Pasadena, Humble, and the like – and rely on those cities for many of their local government services. But more than 2 million others live in unincorporated Harris County, meaning the county is their only local government.

Despite providing these crucial and seemingly high-profile services, county government sometimes slips under the public radar."

Searching for the hidden Christmas pickle in the December calendar is a favorite holiday tradition at Big Stone Lodge. Help us carry on the tradition with this online version! See if you can find the three hidden Christmas pickles, then share with your family and friends to see if they can find them!

🎄The Tradition of the Christmas Pickle 🎄

"To start a tradition that surly will last,
Here’s a short story about a pickle made of glass.
The night before Christmas it’s hung in the tree,
While everyone’s sleeping it’s done secretly.
And on Christmas morning when you arise,
The first one to find it will get a surprise.
A family tradition for all to share.
You’ll look for the pickle year after year."

I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone at Precinct 4. Was trying to get a dead animal removed from the street in front of my house. It was mid -afternoon on a Friday. From the operator on the phone to the Road Dept personnel, who came out "promptly" Thanks again!

MEYER PARK PUBLIC ACCESS TO SOCCER FIELD We are a Community of about 40-50 Players in ages ranging from 12-68 Years old, including teenage Girls, Fathers, Grandfathers, Tradesmen, Engineers, Doctor/Dentist, Business Owners, School and College Student, Preacher etc. We are predominantly Black and Hispanic People (with a smattering of Caucasians) from the Soccer playing Nations of the World along with our American Citizenships, Children and Grandchildren. We are well known Citywide for the “pickup” Game we play, where anyone can pick a Side (usually Shirt or Skins), walk into the Game and play. This open style of playing quite often end up 20+ v 20+ which is pretty much what we are used to back in our Home Countries, wherein large open Spaces are not usually available so wherever we find space become a Soccer Mecca for all. We have played this way at Meyer Park, some of us 15-20+ Years without any Issue until now. A bit over a Year ago a certain Klein Soccer Authority(we cannot seem to find anything about them on Google) led by one Kevin Quisenberry somehow convince or finagle Harris County Pct 4 Parks Authorities into giving them Least Ownership/Rights over the Sports Fields. With this Least in Hand they have demanded of us $800/Monthly or as is the current Situation, their off-duty Police Officers will have us arrested and jailed for Trespassing. Some People walk, jog, ride Bikes, Skates/Skateboard etc, for their Heath we play Soccer. Meyer Park was given by Elizabeth Meyer for that very Reason, the Health and Mental wellbeing of the surrounding Community and Public at large. It was given to be a peaceful and tranquil Oasis in the midst of ever-increasing Traffic and Technology, where all People can come and get a little bit of back to Nature. IT WAS NOT TO BE PURPOSED TO A FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION SUCH AS KLEIN socalled SPORTS AUTHORITY TO SCAM AND SQUEEZE THE PUBLIC FOR MONEY. LET’S RESTORE MEYER PARK SPORTS FIELD TO THE PUBLIC DOMAIN WHERE IT BELONG AND REMOVE KLEIN so-called SPORTS AUTHORITY AND THEIR BIGOTED, HYPOCRITICAL AND RACIST AGENDA FROM ANY AFFILIATION TO MEYER PARK.
Why have you conspired with Harris County Pct 4 Parks Authorities, Klein(socalled) Sports Authority and Kevin Quisenberry to play Bigots, Hypocrites and Racists to kick us out of Meyer Park?
A huge thank you to the Spring location for doing an excellent job completing some requests in the Northampton area! Ashley was very helpful in assisting us...and Archie was so nice and did a great job! We have the best crew! You are appreciated! Thank you!
dfghjk
I worked an election day in January and still have not been paid! How bad can the Pct 4 budget be that you have to withhold $160 due to a poll worker? I worked to get you elected to a judicial bench (remember Cactus Jack?) several years ago, now I am being ignored!
Are the play areas at Collins Park open for kids to play? Or still closed due to COVID?
Big thank you to the county team that was out clearing the culverts along Windfern road near my house last week! Yall are awesome!
Regarding the 8% property tax hike currently under consideration, that would be a foolish thing to do. With so many people out of work and barely hanging by a thread, raising property taxes of any amount will push most people right over the edge. I seriously hope this is not a serious consideration, and that you will vote against that should it come to the table.
Why are Humble and Atascocita no longer flying the American flag? Prominent places where once I saw it regularly Atascocita Rd shopping center at Ling's Buffet, McKay Dr near Memorial Hermann Hospital. Now it is only the Texas state flag. Are our city and county officials bowing down to these Marxist and terrorist groups destroying our country and attempting to erase our history? Shouldn't tax-paying citizens who live and shop in these areas have a say about these things?
Thank you so much to Commissioner R. Jack Cagle and everyone at Harris County Precinct 4! Today they gave us these masks and hand sanitizer for our funeral home. We appreciate your support so much!
