Everyone needs and deserves safe housing. As we continue to deal with the ongoing public health and economic crisis caused by #COVID19, keeping families housed must remain a top priority.

Commissioners Court has modified the COVID 19 Rental Assistance Program so that families in Harris County who need help can apply for aid for rent due in September, October and November. These changes were passed to prevent evictions, risk of homelessness, and housing instability during this crisis.

At a time when women and people of color are among those hardest hit by the ongoing economic recession, Harris County is pushing forward on economic equity and opportunity. The newly adopted policy for Minority and Women-Owned Enterprises (MWBEs) follows the release of an extensive Disparity Study, which showed that MWBEs receive only 9.1% of Harris County contracting dollars despite representing a third of the available market.

This is a positive step toward true equity and will create opportunities for everyone to thrive.

Where do I find the list of rules governing photography at Challenger Park? I live close to the park and have taken family photos there for years. I'm also a high school photography teacher. I have taken students there for the past few years to take pictures at the park. We were told by Chad Adkins that photography is prohibited at the park and we can no longer do that. When was that decision made and where are the rules prohibiting photography posted? I have a lot of questions.
Significant weather is moving through Harris County. Please continue rely on updates at ReadyHarris. Avoid high water on roadways.
I strongly oppose the 8% tax increase you are proposing. It appears that once Democrats get elected (no matter their position) all they want to do is increase taxes instead of looking closely at the budget on what can be either cut or eliminated.
Thanks for your beautiful and poignant remembrance of Hon. Mickey Leland on the anniversary of his death 30 years ago today. I remember him well from my days at the Capitol - he was indeed a force for good. Thank you for your service, too!
Please look into the stop signs being put up all over Summerwood. They are even placing them in curves in the road. It's ridiculous. There are two stop signs within 100 ft. of each other near my house. There's no rhyme or reason why. I don't think they actually did any research or traffic studies. Stop signs should be for intersection control not speed control.
