I took a moment during City Council yesterday to celebrate the life and legacy of WWII veteran and District I resident Marcos M. Barelas who passed away over the Memorial Day weekend at the age of 96. Mr. Barelas was an inspirational man, exemplary citizen, a true American patriot. As a small token of our appreciation, Mayor Turner adjourned the council meeting in memory of Mr. Barelas.
