Houston Aviation Club

Houston Aviation Club In 2012, the City’s Houston Airport System sponsored the first ever Houston Aviation Club by partnering with two Houston area high schools. In 2012, the City’s Houston Airport System sponsored the first ever Houston Aviation Club by partnering with two Houston area high schools, with the goal of connecting students on a monthly basis and offering learning and development opportunities to young people who share a passion for aviation.

The goal of the program is to mentor, inspire and empower our youth; exchange ideas with them, and to spark their interest in pursuing a post-secondary education in aerospace or aviation related fields. Support for our students extends beyond the high school years. One of the goals of the program is to offer students financial support in the form of scholarships and job internships and to monitor them as they progress academically.

Mission: The Houston Aviation Club aims to: 1. Create educational and learning experience for students that ignite an interest in aerospace careers; 2. Provide leadership opportunities for students by creating officer roles for the Club; 3. Promote interest for students to pursue a post-secondary degree in aerospace or aviation related careers at community colleges and universities with related degree disciplines; 4. Support greater Houston area students’ interest in aerospace and aviation careers.
