Houston PetSet

We are grateful to have partnered and collaborated with organizations in our community to safely provide valuable offerings.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we launched various supply distribution days in order for animal owners to receive essential items like pet food, while their children also received materials on the proper treatment of animals.

#ForTheAnimals #CollaborationWorks

COVID-19 has caused our grantees to continually rethink how they can safely pivot to provide valuable offerings for the people of our community and #ForTheAnimals.

Throughout the summer, Barrio Dogs, Emancipet and Houston Humane Society, in conjunction with Christina Morales - Representative TX District 145 and State Senator Carol Alvarado, partnered to launch various supply distribution days in order for animal owners to receive essential items like pet food, while their children also received materials on the proper treatment of animals.

We are so proud to support these nonprofits; they exemplify what it means when we say #CollaborationWorks!

🐾 Spay/neuter surgeries for only $69
🐾 Vaccines are $15
🐾 Microchips are $20
🐾 Office visit is $9

We also offer heartworm tests/treatment along with heartworm and flea prevention.

We now have 2 Houston-area clinics to better serve the community. Please let us know if you would like to schedule an appointment for spay/neuter (like this perfect pup pictured, Blackie 🐾🐶💕).

No appointment is necessary for our wellness visits.

With the help of some great volunteers, this morning we distributed 1,500+ school supply kits, 25,000 lbs of food, two full truckloads of pet food, 200 electric toothbrushes, face masks, diapers, free vouchers for spay, neuter and vaccinations, toys, and books. We also had volunteers helping families fill out their census and registered to vote.

This morning, 155 computers were distributed to the students at Yolanda Black Navarro Middle School to assist them in virtual learning and give resources to the families that otherwise would not have computer access.

Over the last 20+ years our foundation has given out more than 25,000 packages of school supplies to children in low income communities of the East End. We continue that traditional this year at the 23rd Annual School Supply Distribution.

This year, 1,200 students will receive virtual school kits that include essential supplies along headphones with a mic, USB's, dry erase lap boards, file folders and more.

The rain did not stop us this morning from distributing 37,000 pounds of food, 4,500 lbs of milk and 7,000 pounds of dog food to over 1,000 families in addition to diapers, hand sanitizer, face masks, cleaning and hygiene products at Chavez High School!

Thank you to all of our wonderful partners and volunteers for their generous support and commitment to our community.

Remember to continue practicing social distancing, using your face mask and wash your hands for at least 20 seconds. Stay safe and healthy!
