Everyone is invited THIS SUNDAY 3/13 from 10am-noon (remember to spring forward for Daylight Savings Time!) to join us at Tacodeli on Washington Ave. as we prepare activity bags for the Wesley Community Center’s senior citizen Spring Kickoff event! Come enjoy breakfast tacos, socialize with mentors and mentees, and contribute to a great cause. All details are in the attached flyer – please make sure to RSVP here if you plan to attend.

Our February Spotlight David DeAnda!
David DeAnda is Chief Legal Officer of Associated Credit Union of Texas in League City.
Originally from Presidio, Texas, David worked as an internal auditor and commercial lender for 9 years before attending law school. Prior to joining the credit union, David was an attorney with Locke Lord in Houston, Texas where he worked in the Business Tax section of the firm and focused on corporate, business taxation, and aviation matters.
HisBA Treasurer Luke Gilman was published recently in the Texas Lawyer. We are proud of his contributions to the legal community and grateful for his service to the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston!

This month we kick off our Advisory Board Highlight.
The Advisory Board consists of 24 members. These individuals provide advice and support to the HisBA Officers and Board of Directors. They are also tasked with collecting and consolidating historical information to preserve the HisBA legacy for future members. As we look to grow we will rely on the experience and insights of our Advisory Board to ensure we stay true to our mission.

Volunteer for Consejos Legales (Virtual)!
Consejos Legales is this Thursday, December 2nd from 6-8 PM. Currently we have 6 volunteers and are in need of more as we have seen the call volume increase.
Start off the Christmas season the right way: by giving and supporting the Spanish speaking community.
